I added Power (TV Series). I had to manually insect all the information such as Title, Directors, writers, and all because Plex couldn't pull them by itself. The name format are the same as my other TV shows so. My problem is that it took me a very long time to get all the information over the internet and it wasn't easy. Plex need to know if information is entered manually that it needs NOT to (I'll say instead) mess with them. I added the 1st episode of season 3 and have plex to scan my library, it removed the names for all seasons. I was so mad last night that if I was one of the almighty, there wouldn't be a world this morning. I wish it would ask me if I want it to make change to things already in place.
Plex is the same as Apple. They both think alike. They think they know what we want, what we deserve and not, what we should live with. Apple was for a selected few until everyone in the world has an iPhone. The original few were more happy about being in a class than what they were missing. But how can you tell the whole world now they can only play a few formats? That's the beginning of the end for Apple and the rise of another.
Plex was great when people into it were people with knowledge of UNIX, and being programmers themselves. Now Plex almost comes with everything and the rest of the world is joining in. One thing still remain the same, they expect us all to be proficient in UNIX and all to solve thing mostly on our own. The lucky few who knows UNIX can easily access their NAS root and, for instance, add webtools, .bundle folders. The majority can't. Meanwhile, you can install channels from Plex Web but you're denied a feature to import your own thing because they know what best for you, what you should have. The MATRIX is real. Those unplugged from the matrix are those with knowledge how to. The one still plugged in are those of us doctors, policemen, carpenters...
I love Plex. I don't know of anything better yet. It's all about putting us in a situation where we have to spend thousands of dollars to get a system that can convert on the fly, forcing us to retire systems that can last a lifetime. Only because they won't build a stand alone player that can support the file formats. If they were, you'd still be using your grand-daddy system lol Plex name is too big now for them to not want to go on adventure, discovering new things. Don't just satisfy using someone else technology that has lots of limitation, make your own. It's not easy! I can't make it. We, the people, know what we want. Build your own player that will be independent of IOS and... you know. I'm with Her! I mean, I'm with you :)
