For a few weeks now every night Plex crashes/shuts down so i decided to check the log (see attached) and i found a Shutting down with signal 15. However i can not find why it is doing this.
Is there someone that can help me, because this is pretty frustrating.

I listen a episode in h264 1080p. I press pause and few hour later when i restart episode. Screen is black and i didn't see button on screen.after I try on other serie and it didn't work. I only have sound. I reinstall but nothing work. It cut completly the signal to tv because i see countdown before shut off. It's only on my xbox one. On roku, pc and android, everything else work. If anybody can help me with my problem

My Plex only can stream at 320p, in my Apple TV 4K App I get to the Setup Menu, I change the streaming option at Maximum, exit the Setup Menu, and if a enter again, It get back to 320p.
When a play a movie, it can be notice that is at 320p.
I have a Chrome Cast to and I can streaming at 1080p with no problem.
Whats happenimg?
Also it gets difficult to connect with the server on the Apple TV 4K, always it said that can't connect to the server, and after insist several times, finally I can have access to the app.

I couldn't understand the way the official (or even third party) scanner worked [with statements like "elif len(paths) > 0 and len(paths[0]) > 0" that made me unable to follow loops accurately] and i was having Scanner induced issues with my Http AniDB Metadata Agent:

   . year in series not passed to the metadata agent

   . series with semicolon (steins;gate) troncated before the semicolon

   . subfolders or series grouped in parent folder not being handled

   . roman episode numbers not processed

   . no management for multiple series episodes in one folder

   . no log files like a metadata agent have

   . no skipped files list

Therefore the only option left was to write one scanner following in the lines of BABS with a source code i could read.

The scanner works brilliantly for me (implemented all points above), including the log generation.

i needed to have all writing rights on folders " /homes/plex " for users group on my Synology box (XPEnology)

However i need some assistance if possible to test the log functionality, potential bugfixes, and feedback

Can you tell me your OS version, and the path to the logs and any manipulations that were needed to enable write access?  Could you also attach both:

   . "Plex Media Scanner Custom.log"

   . "Plex Media Scanner Custom - Skipped files.log"

Anybody knows if a scanner can be included in the unsupported appstore? if so, what format/naming does the repository need to have ?

I watched a movie a few days ago where the volume went from so loud its going to wake the kids to cant hear anything but I know they're talking because I can see their lips moving.

I have a Plex Library that contains no errors at all. It has been repaired and optimized.

Hi, my server is on raspberry pi 3, my client is samsung tv ks8000
raspberry pi has 100mb ethernet speed and it is connected with lan..
i can send 40 gb movies over dlna to tv with direct play, but 20 gb movies with plex are buffering with direct stream..

system is on sd card and speed is Write = 9.2 MB/s | Read = 27.4 MB/s and because plex and other programs are on sd card, that speed can go down..
My movies are on external hdd and speed is Write = 32.1 MB/s | Read = 32.8 MB/s so i put transcode folder on external hdd because it's faster and free from other proccesses

I don't think that issue is with lan speed or hdd write and read speed. Because when i watch at htop write and read speed it's not constant, and it never go to max level, which is 12 MB/s if plex is writing and reading at the same time, it goes to 7 or 8 MB/s top..
Is there a way to change chunks size so i can experiment a little?

I'm looking for a new streaming device to plug into my Denon receiver and Samsung 4K. Ideally, I want it to be able to passthrough both 7.1 DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD. I know that the Nvidia Shield can do this. What other devices out there can?

I've tried to reflash my drive (3 times now?) and set this up multiple times but I've ended up in the same state every time. This is a new install of Plex on a RPi 3 B+. I'm using the dev2day repo with armhf. I can reboot the PI and Plex starts normally as long as I haven't added any libraries. Once I add a library and the initial scan completes I have rebooted the PI. At this point I'm getting an SQLITE error in the logs. I've already tried the instructions to repair a corrupt database to no avail. SQLITE reports there is no problem and I've followed the repair procedure anyways. There are only six lines in the log of relevance and they are as follows.

All of my media is on a QNAP NAS and I'm mounting the drives via fstab with a 20 second delay and a 'mount -a' in rc.local.

Not sure what else to try at this point. I guess I could try the beta builds from dynodev?

My PMS server is running on my LAN and it's local IP is 10.0.0.5 with port 32400.

I can access the server from Plex Media Player on my other computer, but I can't access via 10.0.0.5:32400 or app.plex.tv/web in my web browser.

Hello, I have a server on debian 9, Plex worked perfectly, but after upgrading to Plex Media Server for Linux
1.12.3.4973-215c28d86 April 13, 2018 has stopped working, server settings it is impossible to open, and also in the library i cant add folders.
I downgraded earlier version but it didn't help

I am saving a lot of youtube videos to my server, since sometimes videos are deleted. Does anybody has an idea how I can let them look good and structured in my library? When I add them now to my "other videos" folder they look horrible and nothing is analyzed.

I hope I used the correct section.

Flex TV. is a web application that interfaces between google Assistant and Plex to allow you to control playback of media using Actions for Google or IFTTT.

Additionally, it interfaces with the API's for Sonarr, Radarr, Couchpotato, Sickbeard, and Sickrage.

It also has customizeable webhooks, so you can basically control anything that has an open API with your voice. If you can send data to a URL to do a thing, you can program it in Flex TV.

Hello Plex users!

Because there is no official packages of Plex Media Player for Linux desktop I have decided to create one.

Instead of building multiple packages for all different packaging systems (DEB, RPM, Snap, Flatpack) and even different distribution releases (separate DEB for Ubuntu Trusty, separate DEB for Ubuntu Xenial,...) I wanted to make things as simple as possible for us Linux users. So I've used an AppImage format for this.

AppImage is universal package format that runs on any modern Linux distribution. No need to install anything (all dependencies are in the image). No root permissions needed. Just download the file and run it like on Windows or macOS.

Packages will run on any Linux that has glibc 2.23 (not older than 2016). Tested it on Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 16.10, Fedora 25, openSUSE 42.2. I am working on making it support older distributions.

On the page you will find official release builds and daily builds. Release builds are for everyone. Daily builds are for anyone who wants to check latest bleeding edge changes in the application.

To automate build process I've created a separate GitHub repository https://github.com/knapsu/plex-media-player-appimage that contains all scripts and files used to make Continuous Delivery pipeline.
Travis CI is used for building the actual packages which then are uploaded to my website.

I used Docker to create common build environment (makes builds reproducible) and to speedup Travis builds as there is no need to install development tools and libraries on the build machine.

I hope that someone will find my work useful.

I have used Plex Media Server on my pc before, successfully through a Chromecast. Now, after several months I want to use it again and can't. I have un-installed and re-installed and set up a new account. Always however on opening the media server it tells me it can't find my server and just has a link to download the media server again, which I have done. I've tried the Help section and checked everything but with no luck.
Please help.

I cannot get my Xbox 360 to load PLEX APP!! Every time I start PLEX on Xbox 360 I have an hour glass and never connect to my cloud media. My iPhone is working fine and connecting. Of course I linked my Xbox to my account. Am I missing something?

I am currently running version Plex Media Server v1.12.3.4973-215c28d86 - Microsoft PC x64 - build: windows-i386 english. Over the past few releases, the server software supporting live TV has become more unstable. Unfortunately the server has always been riddled with bugs when using it for Live TV. For example, the software regularly disables a device from using a specific channel and the only recourse is to restart the server. I've reported this bug in the past along with log files but have seen no attempt to address it. Restarting the server is a regular requirement to the point I created a simple script (see below) on the server with a shortcut link on the desktop allowing a double click restart, making it simple enough that anybody in the house can do it. Many software bugs that manifest in the server can only be resolved by a full restart. In my usage pattern the server requires a restart at least once a day.

In the past few releases the stability of the server has become even worse. For example, the ability to join a live program from a second TV no longer works. The standard question (buttons) when joining an actively recorded program "Start from beginning" or "View Live" are presented to the second joining stream, but neither selection works anymore. The stream sometimes will start from the beginning, but It's not possible to fast forward. Joining a second stream worked in version 1.11. My experience is that the most recent software releases are making the application less and less usable. It is highly unfortunate because the idea is a very good one. Execution of the idea, in my experience, has been very poor. A level of stability of the platform needs to be established in order for it to be a viable product.

I've been using Plex for years and years now, across many devices, but recently it seems as if the software has been going backwards and things that used to work no longer do. I've been doing a lot of research recently, and I've seen a lot of similar posts, but nothing that definitively answers my question, or asks the exact same one.
I run Plex on a HP Gen 8 Microserver, running Windows 10. It's a low powered machine, but that's perfect as it's essentially just a file server. It's just holding the files, I don't want it to do any transcoding. For this posts, I'm referring to when I play files on my Samsung Q8 TV, which is Tizen based.. Both TV and Server are up to date.
I can direct play all my files perfectly, all audio and video tracks for files I have are compatible, including newer DTS X or Dolby Atmos, and also 2160p or HDR files. They all direct play and I can change through audio tracks if I desire. However, recently (probably for the last few months at least actually) as soon as I add external subtitles, the audio track transcodes. The video direct streams, but Plex decides the audio track needs to transcode. The audio track is compatible and known working as I can direct play it without external subs, so why does it transcode when I select the subtitle track? The external subs are in .srt format and I'm using external subs embedded subtitles force transcoding anyway as far as I'm aware.
Like I said, this issue has only arisen "recently" and previously I used to watch all my films in this way on my older Samsung JS8500 TV, which didn't run the Tizen OS.
Does anyone have any idea why this function is no longer working? It was one of the better features and now I'm loosing faith with Plex and looking at alternatives like Emby.
Any feedback or advice would be great.
