Last night was watching a TV show I ripped fine. Tonight the same series is skipping audio like crazy on my fire stick gen2. Nothing's changed media wise I checked my files they are fine. Windows 10 works, Xbox works, fire stick skips. Was there a botched update? I have to switch to transcode for it to stop. Direct play skips.
H265, 1080p, ac3 5.1 direct play. Newest server on windows 10.
My setup is Plex 1.9.0.4252 on Ubuntu server, streaming to an Apple TV (tvOS 11.0). With one movie in particular the sound will just stop while the video continues. If I pause and play, the sound will start up again. If I watch through web client, it seems to play (and the sound is) fine. Only thing I notice different is in the plex logs, when streaming to the Apple TV, I see the following message periodically:
DEBUG - Failed to stream media, client probably disconnected: 32 - Broken pipe
Also, the audio doesn't stop at the same point every time. If I start from the beginning it will sometimes pause at 1:23, then the next time it will make it through 5 minutes, or 2, or...
It is highly reproducible with this one video, but as it just started yesterday, I'm not sure if other videos will also have this problem.
I've restarted the Apple TV. Restarted the Plex server.
Any ideas?

i have a DS 216j NAS for Plex server. I have an Samsung UE49K6300 as a Plex clien. After the latest release PLEX doesn't work. I can't play video above 720p. Error message is: "The server is not strong enough to convert videos." Before 08.02.2018 it was great.

I have 4 seasons of MacGyver - The Original series. I cannot seem to get it to match. It keeps pulling the new stuff for MetaData. I have the same problem with Ghostbusters.

Has anyone had issues with the latest PMS update and the AppleTV 4k? Subtitles seem to play now, but are all off by a couple of seconds when played on the apple tv. I know the media is fine though as they play correctly in VLC and other plex players like the MacOS Plex App. In addition, I am no longer able to play any of my 4k HEVC content on the apple tv, although 1080p content still plays. 4k content says it is "Direct Streaming", but the Apple TV app just errors out with "Something went wrong playing your media".
If I revert to the previous PMS (4666) or release I can play my 4k content fine (although subtitles don't seem to work at all).
Not sure if it's just FireTV or if it's other apps as well, but...
On my FireTV with the newest updates, when I start to play a new TV Episode, the player acts like I paused it, and am fast forwarding it. The video freezes on the few first frames, but the playhead move along about a minute every few seconds.
This happens after I quit the app, rebooted the FireTV. It's intermittent, maybe 1/6 episodes or so. PMS is up to date as well.

Will the plex app support 4K/HDR native streaming with the Xbox one X? Also is the Plex app EVER getting a new Xbox update?
I'm using the Android app on my pixel to cast to my Chromecast.
If I leave my LAN or lose wifi signal on my phone while a movie is playing then reconnect I can control the movie like pause and stop but the notification is stuck. If I open the app, stop the movie and disconnect from the Chromecast the notification for the movie I was playing is still stuck in the notification shade. This doesn't happen on any other app that I cast. The only way to get the notification to go away is by force closing the app or restarting my phone.
I am sure this has been asked before, but I searched and didn't find it. This interface is FAR superior to the current Android TV interface. When will we see this player available for the Android TV (Shield and FireTV)
I use Kodi with the Plex-Kodi Connect just to get away from the cumbersome UI of Plex. This player would alleviate my need for Kodi.

I'm a happy PLEX user for several years, but now I miss a little feature. The Multiroom Audio feature, which enables playing individual music across the house. My idea is simple. Using the servers platform onboard and/or add-on soundcard (if available) output. They can configured to mono or stereo zones. Every mono zone is one audio channel, so the common 5.1 soundcard can handle three stereo zone, or six mono. The user can configure and manage this setup from web interface. Adding, renaming, assign zones. Example "Kitchen" are the first output left channel "Hall" are the right, the "Living room" are the second output left and right. This feature appears on now playing bar on any device! I attached an example. Thanks in advance!
My 67 year old mother enjoys using her RokuTV with Plex however search is only limited to the movie and video titles, artist names, album titles, and playlists but not actor and actress names. Bless her heart, the woman spent 10min to punch in the letters for actress Irene Dunne and search came up with no movie titles in any of the libraries with her in it. I had to grab our household tablet and typed in Irene Dunne and BOOM, movies populated but then my mom would have had to cast it or type in the movie name into the Plex search box on the RokuTV. Stuff like this doesn't frustrate me as much BUT when I'm trying to make things like this work for my mother who clearly thought I deleted the movies or she misspelled the actress name, it just sad that I have to tell her "that's the way it is". The only work around I found to work is making video playlists of her favorite actors.

I have synced a few TV shows and Movies to my iPhone 7 Plus, they are impossible to watch on my commute to work and back. The volume with my AirPods is so bad! All I can hear is the subway train and people talking at its highest volume. Music sounds fine and all other apps are ok. I have adjusted the sync quality for audio and tired to use volume boost (does absolutely nothing). I pay for PlexPass purely for this feature and am considering cancelling and just using Infuse on my iOS devices.
I would like to make a request for new features for the Alexa Skill for Plex.
1) Please add a command like "Shuffle all my music" or "Shuffle my music library". I would like it to play random music from my entire library.
2) When a command like, "Play music by Al Green" is given make the command continue playing additional songs by that artist, like when a shuffle is specified. At the moment it just plays one song and then stops.

This has been happening for about a week now and I cannot figure out what the issue is. I've done all the obvious such as reinistalling plex server, restarting router etc..I have the following setup, which has been working for several years without any issue:
Playing media using the Plex Client installed locally on this PC works 100% BUT using a client such as an iPad does not work as it should. The following issue occurs:

When I set the transcoder to flac/flac it creates invalid output.
When I set my music profile output to container="flac" audioCodec="flac" the transcoder works but the .ts files generated are invalid.

Today I went to play an episode of a tv show on the plex media player program. But to my surprise when I went to do so it wouldn't play. I tried to go forwards in the episode but it would just keep going back to the start and not playing. I thought maybe this was an issue with just this show. It wasn't. I tried to watch another show and the same thing happened.
I then tried to go to the web client to watch it and it worked perfectly fine. Closed and reopened the media player and it still wouldn't play. Then I tried to reinstall the media player but it appears that it still keeps it's cache because on reinstalling it signed me in automatically and the problem still persisted.
I'm attaching a link to a .gif that shows another problem I'm having that just started as well where I went to manually browse to that episode in the plex media player and when I click the episode it just sporadically jumps between episodes randomly and doesn't stop until I close the program. Someone please tell me what I can do to fix this.
