I have a few problems with my subtitles, they disappear after a few seconds of film; I have the same worries if my film has two different languages, it alter once in English once in French without reason.

Personally I have a big problem reading. I use a Synology NAS and a Sony TV of 2017, the reading of 4K films is difficult or impossible (horizontal lines or bands).

Some of you may have followed the recent development on the original Subliminal.bundle by @bramwalet.

I've made some serious changes, improvements and bugfixes to Subliminal.bundle during the last few weeks, with the help of some very nice people such as @PMAdmin, @chopeta, @BlueToxic and others.

As the direction of this project has moved a long way, I thought it was time to evolve from simply being a personal fork of Subliminal.bundle to something more dedicated.

Plugin Description

Sub-Zero aims to solve your subtitle problems by automatically downloading the hopefully best subtitles there are, for your individual video file.

Subtitles are a problem? Yep, they definitely are. I myself use this plugin on a daily basis as my wife has a serious hearing condition where subtitles help us to be able to watch our favourite TV series and movies together. Subtitles pose a generic struggle: matching your media file perfectly. This is as hard as it gets. Thankfully there are a bunch of libraries and services out there, that help with that.

Sub-Zero is far from being perfect, but with recent development and planned features, we're really getting there.

Its core is based on the works of Diaoul, who created the subliminal library, as well as enzyme, to parse MKV metadata. In addition to that Sub-Zero uses the extremely well-made guessit library made by wackou.

Sub-Zero still is under heavy development but has recently reached a stable state. I need you to report bugs and tell me your opinion on new features.

It currently supports the following subtitle providers:

Manual Installation

• go to Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/
• remove old versions (rm -r Sub-Zero.bundle)
• get the current version from here
• unpack it
• restart your plex media server!

Usage

• go to Settings -> Server -> Agents -> Movies/TV Shows
• select the metadata provider you use on your library, e.g.: Freebase (movies) or TheTVDB (series)
• enable Sub-Zero Subtitles (TV/Movies)
• configure them
• refresh your library (or individual movies/TV shows)

Use the following agent order:

1. Sub-Zero Subtitles (TV/Movies)
2. Local Media Assets (TV/Movies)
3. anything else

Attention: If you don't include the source/format (HDTV, BluRay, etc.) in your TV media file names, lower the minimum TV score to 330, otherwise you get no subtitles!

older changes

I run two servers. A primary and a backup on a NAS. I blew away the primary and its database yesterday and rebuilt from scratch with the latest version. Guest is enabled on the new server but when I get on my Roku Guest can only see the backup server. The primary is not in the dropdown. When I log in as my regular user I can see both the primary and the backup. Any ideas how to allow Guest to see the primary?

I am having issues with the Xbox One app and only the Xbox one app. I have read and tried other peoples posts without anything helping.
Background: Latest Xbox Plex app, Latest Plex server on the local network, works for others off the network (on a different device), and on the network with other devices. I have changed the setting to allow unsecured connections in the app and opened up the Plex server on the Local PC as much as possible.

Upon install of new plex app, it connects and displays the empty screen with prompts, it shows my media libraries and my server name. I can access movies, Some play without issues....some don't play. Once the plex app on the Xbox is closed and reopened. I cannot see my server at all under libraries and acts like there isn't anything found. Under "settings - Media server" it shows mine as nearby and green. but there is forever a loading sign on the blank screen, and nothing ever loads into the libraries.

The only way to get connected again is to uninstall and reinstall plex app on Xbox.

Any ideas anyone? Super annoying!!

Hi, I have updated the Plex app on my xbox one (old xbox). I have got issues with the external subtitles which disappear after playing around 7 minutes. I have to go back to the menu, then continue from watching and it goes well.
Can you fix this issue ? It was working fine with the old app.

Assuming \SHIELDTV\internal\Plex Media Server\DVR was the right spot...

Is there any way to set Plex to not bind to every IP available on a machine? I have specific services setup under specific virtual IP's on my media server, all configured to use only the IP I specify. Plex currently jumps on all of them and binds ports on each ip;

ERROR

This bug started happening for me about a one server version back. I'm running the latest version. When casting music from plex for Android, the android app loses synch with the chromecast at the end of the first track. Chromecast will continue playing the playlist but plex for Android appears to play the first track over and over on the screen. I took a video of this. Will post a link to the video.

Desde hace una semana, cada vez que intento entrar en el Servidor Plex desde mi QNAP, dándole al icono, se me abre una página de explorador con el error "no se puede acceder a esta página" (IMAGEN 1). Si intento abrir el Servidor Plex desde www.plex.tv, no me encuentra las bibliotecas que tenía cargadas (IMAGEN 2), ni siquiera me deja entrar en ajustes de servidor (IMAGEN 3). Desde mis dispositivos sí puedo ver las bibliotecas y visualizar el contenido, pero al no poder entrar al servidor, ni puedo añadir ni modificar nada. ¿Por favor, me podrían echar una mano con esto? ¿Alguien sabe a qué puede ser debido y cómo solucionarlo? Tengo cerca de unos 3000 archivos clasificados manualmente y temo perder los metadatos.

Aprovechando la ocasión, ¿me podrían decir cómo hacer una copia de seguridad de los metadatos de Plex? ¿Hay alguna carpeta que los contenga y pueda copiar por si acaso tengo que restaurar Plex? Mi nivel de informática es más bien tirando a escaso, si corresponde que me presten ayuda en este tema, agradecería que fuera de forma sencilla.

I am kinda noob with Plex. Not using it for a long time, But I have a little problem with my subtitles and I think you guys can help me with that.

I download movies and series that I put on Plex.
I let Plex automatically download subtitles from opensubtitles.org
Plex download Dutch and Englisch subtitles.
Both subtitles are completely out of sync....

I updated Plex Server to the newest Update.
The server has been rebooted.
The server has enough resources for this.

I am using the free Plex version.

Does someone got any tips for this problem?

Introduction

Greetings all!

What started out as me trying to learn Python ended up being a quite useful app, so I thought I'd share what I've got so far.

This initially started out basically as a direct port of PlexWatchWeb from PHP to Python so it would be easier for most people to get running. I however am never satisfied so after much tinkering and tweaking I started slowly adding and fixing things that I thought needed attention.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about then that's fine too, if you came here to just find a tool to easily monitor and receive notify playback events from Plex you're at the right place.

I recently configured Cloud Sync to work with my Google Drive. I was able to get about 15 movies converted and uploaded, now however everything I try to sync transcodes but then just sits at "waiting to upload". I'm running version 1.2.0.2765. What more information is needed to troubleshoot this issue?

Plex version 1.10.0.4516

Every recording is throwing an error - "an error occurred while post-processing the recording"

However I do not have anything entered in for the postprocesing script - I don't do any post processing. If this field is blank there should be no post processing and there should be no error thrown. The recordings are being added and watchable, just need this error to go away.

I have an issue. I can connect Plex to my Chromecast. On the TV screen I have the "ready to cast" message but when I try to watch something it keeps loading saying "Casting to..." but nothing happens.
If I try casting from my phone app it works, but not on Chrome.
Jeez, Plex keeps having one issue after another. I really don't know what to do anymore. I tried do uninstall it and update it (I had a previous version of Plex because I don't like the new one, the subtitles remain really big even if I choose the "normal" size), but if I update, then Plex doesn't find my server. I have ESET Antivirus so I also tried to deactivate the firewall and I put Plex to the exceptions, but no solution.

So, in summary, if I use the old version Plex won't cast.
If I use the new one, then it doesn't find the server. I mean, REALLY?!

EDIT:

Okay, now the update went fine, Plex did find my server and I can cast BUT... I see that you didn't solve the "subtitle issue". Whatever size I choose, they always stay "small". I change the size but it stays the same. And I find it really really small. That's why I was using the old version.
But I guess now I can't use it anymore since it won't cast. And I don't like the new one because of the small subtitles. Great, really great.

Just to give a heads up, I was running a Server 2012 R2 with zero issues with plex, I built a Server 2016 virtual machine and ran a robocopy on the directory from the Server 2012 R2 (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server)
to the new Server 2016, and exported the plex registry keys to the new server, everything works but the "Update my library automatically" and "Run a partial scan when changes are detected." I made sure to run a Refresh All Metadata / Analyze and still no luck.

I then built a brand new Server 2012 R2 virtual machine, took the same steps robo copying the data from server 2016 to the server 2012 r2 and the "Update my library automatically" and "Run a partial scan when changes are detected" works just fine.

My files are hosted on CIFS shares and I know its not really supported to use CIFS and update my library automatically, but just wanted to say it works fine in Server 2012 R2 just not in Server 2016. Thanks

I installed the server through the plex website and when done I hit launch and it took me to the web app to log in. I logged in and it could not find a server. When I go to the devices tab it does not show a server just the web app. When I try to open the newly downloaded server app on my computer it opens up to a screen that says modify install It has 3 buttons to choose: close, uninstall, and repair. I tried the repair and it does it's thing and restarts the computer but it doesn't repair anything. The same thing happens over and over. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but the same thing continues to happen. My system is running windows 10. I definitely can't get a plex pass if I can't have a working server.
