Hello,

I downloaded the latest QPKG update today (Nov 27, 2107) and tried to install manually from the QNAP App Center as I always do. It freezes at 45% and will not proceed, even if wait for more than 30 minutes. It definitely hosed my PLEX installation. Worse, it removed PLEX from my server and the App Center icon is now gone.

I tried re-downloading the QPKG from the PLEX website but the same thing happens (freeze at 45%). So I'm dead in the water with this version.

Is this happening to anyone else? Could there be an error in the QPKG file PLEX posted for download?

ist es möglich, die Dateien so einzulesen, wie sie im Verzeichnis sind? Habe dabei zwei Probleme.

1. Dateien verschiedener Ordner, werden als eine Folge mit verschiedenen Versionen zusammengefasst.
   Bsp:
   //Serie X/Folgen/01 - xxx.mkv
   //Serie X/Specials/01 - yyy.mkv
   Diese beiden werden zusammengefasst. Beide Ordner verschmelzen zu einem und eine Folge hat Version 1 (Folgen) und Version 2 (Specials). Ist es möglich das zu verhindern und einfach beide Ordner "Folgen" und "Specials" anzuzeigen? Eine "Split"-Option wird mir nicht angezeigt.
   

2. Ist es möglich den Dateinamen als Titel zu verwenden? Bei mir wird immer "Folge 1", "Folge 2", ... angezeigt.

Falls es keine Lösung für meine Probleme gibt: Welche Alternativen Player für eine Synology NAS stehen sonst noch zur Verfügung? Die Video-Station unterstützt leider keine pgs-Untertitel

I am unable to turn off subtitles while watching live tv on my iphone, i am not able to find a setting on the plex server side or anything within the plex app. when i change subtitle looks under settings>general>accessibility>subtitles & captioning i can change the look of the subtitles but not turn them off... any ideas?

is it possible to play 4k video files from an external USB 3.0 hard drive using plex?

I currently use my nas for plex but it doesn't support 4k. I intend to get a Nvidia Shield 2017 add my 4k films to the external HD and play it through Plex (if possible)

More often than not video seems to be stopping playback a few minutes before the end. It buffers and continues (wife calls it a built in intermission). I've noticed other threads with this problem and I've installed the latest PMS 1.10.0.4523 but the issue is still persisting.

Have tried syncing with the new app (love the design by the way)

If I initiate the sync from the web app or via my iphone it isnt working! The video transcodes fine and very quickly. It then tries to download the file to my phone. It instantly jumps to 50% and dosnt move from there, just says waiting for server.

I can sync to my android phone fine, so its definetly not the server thats the issue.

Help!!!  I've been trying to solve this for a while so someone might be able to point out whats going wrong.

In general I don't have any problem with Plex ID my movies or TV Shows, but recently I got both the live action and animation series of Mr. Bean and stored it on my QNAP in the following folder structure with the following file names...

The problem is the Plex scanner combines both series into a single folder with the first 14 shows showing 2.

If I remove either series the Plex scanner correctly identifies the series left behind and everything is OK, but as soon as I put the other back it combines them again.

Any ideas?  All my other stuff is ok, its just Mr. Bean thats giving me grief.

I just wanted to chirp in that I was able to get sound working with Plex Android and the Nexbox A95x Box...

• Installed 6.6 Plex Android via an APK
• Set Passthrough on the Nexbox to ON, as it YES to Passthrough
• Set HDMI Self-Adaptation to ON as well on Nexbox

This sound issue (was on AC3 audio only - all TV shows coming in basically - no sound) was driving me INSANE, but these settings (after MANY Factory Resets) FINALLY solved it!

Hello everyone,
I wanted to create a central resource for people waiting for the issues with Plex Sync to be cleared up. I will keep posting back if nothing else just so this thread sticks around. Everybody has a different use case, but there's an underlying theme that Sync works sometimes and other times not at all. Since this is a paid feature and also fairly essential functionality for a lot of us, I feel it should be a priority to at least get it to a functional state.

My use case: I have a music library of about 6,000 items taking up about 88GB that I want to sync in Original quality. I have both a phone and tablet with ample room to store this information. I don't want to use my data plan to stream lossless content all the time, nor do I want to actively manage what I'm syncing every day. I'm looking for a consistent media experience across all of my devices, simply mirroring one another.

Currently: Plex will sync the first 20GB of items begrudgingly; I do need to restart both PMS and the App multiple times. After that it keeps ticking down the amount of files remaining without transferring a single one. All files are compatible with my devices. PMS and the Android App are fully up to date. There are no communication or permissions issues in my network.

Expected Use: Plex should have no issues syncing as many items as you have space for.

I don't mean to be harsh, and I've used Plex for years and really enjoyed it. However, the idea of syncing content between devices is older than iTunes and I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be functional in Plex regardless of use case. As a company Plex has been really good about addressing functionality issues, at least in my case, so I have no doubt this will be addressed. It's just a little surprising that it hasn't been yet.

I have a TV show of documentaries where I have to fill in the metatags (Title, Originally Available, Summary) all by myself. I haven't collect all documentaries, just some of them. But if I add a new episode to a season which already has some existing episodes, all titles in this season get lost - the title fields are empty but still shown as locked (the Sort Title field keeps the information).

Is this a bug?

The latest stable server version 1.9.7.4460 is in use.

Also the option "Update my library automatically" doesn't seams to work for me anymore, I have to start the scan of a changed library manually.

Installation:

• Cryptodome : PyCryptodome is a self-contained Python package of low-level cryptographic primitives
  -- A cryto library required for Host Mega to function. Mega only allows downloading files, not streaming. Currently, G2G and ALL-UC are the only providers that provide links for Mega.
• PhantomJS: PhantomJS is a headless WebKit scriptable with a JavaScript API
  -- A headless browser that allows opening webpages and extracting the final video url required for playback. Currently, OpenLoad is the only host utilizing this.

New automation routine for reqkey cookie. Details on how to set them up are discussed below. You only need 1 of them. Thanks to @Twoure for both the methods.

Note: Important Please read

As of v. 0.50 (Nov-2017) the site seems to not use the cookie token anymore, though it still has it in its code. I'm going to leave that in the channel plugin code incase it is back. So now resetting cookie wont dump any token code and also Webhook (hook.io) and Node.Js parts of the code are not being used (Automation methods discussed below) and not required. The session/cf cookie is still used so Reset Cookie can still fix cookie related issues.

Method 1: Installing a JRE (Java Runtime Engine) like Node.js

The preferred automation routine for the cookie requires a JRE installed on the PMS machine. There are a few other JRE's that might work as well but I have only tested this with Node.js. Once installed restart your PMS and confirm in your channel log if possible and see the following entries to confirm..

Then navigate to the Reset Cookie and try a video and check if you are still getting the token error.

Method 2: Using a webhook url - please fork the one below and use your own

The other automation method (primarily where JRE cannot be installed) utilizes a website to run a small script to decode (similar to the manual process using jsfiddle). It is limited to 1000 request per month with their free plan so I request everyone to signup for the free account and fork this script https://hook.io/coder-alpha/test/fork and then enter it under the Channel settings/Prefs

Once you have updated the Settings/Prefs with your webhook-url navigate to Reset Cookie and then try a video and check if you are still getting the token error.

Once you have got one of the above methods working you can set your Cache expiry time to 100 (min.). This will fetch new cookies at that interval. I think the session cookie are valid for 2 hrs.

Troubleshooting: General

Restarting PMS can work wonders too in fixing issues and shoo away the ghosts of Plex
Some simple troubleshooting steps that might be useful.

Under Options > Clear Cache (can solve issues if a bad or old copy of a webpage is in memory)
Under Options > Reset Cookies (can solve bad/old cookie values that might be in memory)
If using a browser Clear browser cache or you can use the Inspect tool (Chrome) and Disable cache which works great after performing the first 2 options.
Restarting PMS can solve issues with variables in memory, including cache and cookies.

This is only recommended if the plugin never worked (could be due to a faulty install) and if the above does not solve then the following steps are to perform a fresh install. Save your Bookmarks via Options > Tools before doing so. You will lose your Recent Watchlist.

Via WebTool > Unistall & Install
If you dont have WebTools. Use Factory Reset under Options which will clear all stored variables (including Bookmarks, Recent, and other/all settings). Delete the FMoviesPlus.bundle from your Plex plugins folder. Download a new copy and install.

Troubleshooting: Errors

Video Unavailable. Error: Video Token Algo or
Video Unavailable. Error: Unknown error

• When the site's algorithm to serve the video link changes.
  => Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. If issue persists please report on this thread.

Video Unavailable. Error: Token

• When the session/cloudflare cookie is expired or has issues.
  => Set Base Site URL under the channel settings/prefs to fmovies.is.
  If that does not resolve. Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. If issue persists please report on this thread.

Error: The page was not received.

• The site might be slow to respond.
  => Give it a few seconds and try again.
  If that does not resolve. Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. If issue persists please report on this thread.

Channel not responding

• This error can occur when using the Plex-Web client for a variety of reasons. The timeout for Plex-web client is set by Plex for 20 seconds which is not enough to make certain requests to websites which might need consecutive requests to retrieve a page/video. If the process is not completed within its timeout then you might see this error. This error can also occur when the site has changed its formatting of the webpage served and the channel plugin code cannot cope up with the changes. This error can also happen due to Plex-web caching an incorrect previous response in the browser cache.
  => Give it a few seconds and try again.
  -- If that does not resolve. Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. Clear your browser cache and try again.
  
  -- Additionally, you can enable/disable some options under the Channel Prefs/Settings which will reduce unwanted requests being made. Those are No Extra Info. for Nav. Pages (Speeds Up Navigation) - enable it & Use LinkChecker for Videos - disable it.
  
  -- If nothing works then try to visit the site/webpage and confirm it is not being blocked and try the alternate Base Url's under the channel settings/prefs. If issue persists please report on this thread.

Ich möchte gerne eine einheitliche Rating-Quelle haben, also entweder nur Imdb oder Movie Database oder etc. Leider kommt es immer wieder vor, daß das Rating eines Films von einer bestimmten Rating-Quelle nicht übernommen wird, obwohl dieser Film dort bewertet wurde. Wäre ja nicht sooo ein großes Problem, wenn man es wenigstens manuell ändern könnte. Leider habe ich aber das Problem, daß manche Filme beispielsweise als Quelle Imdb angeben, obwohl ich Movie Database gewählt habe (und es auch bei allen anderen Filmen angezeigt wird), ich dann aber bei diesen Filmen die Quelle nicht ändern kann: Ich kann zwar das Rating ändern, aber es wird immer noch das Imdb-Symbol angezeigt. Umgekehrt genauso: Ändere ich alles auf Imdb, kann ich bei den wenigen Filmen, die partout Movie Database als Quelle da stehen haben, nur das Rating ändern, aber nicht die Quelle, also es bleibt das Sternchen-Symbol stehen und ich kann es nicht auf das Imdb-Symbol ändern.
Gibt es da einen Trick? Oder ist Plex in dieser Hinsicht einfach verkorkst? (Wobei ich das gesamte Agenten-System arg verbesserungswürdig finde!)

I downloaded and unzipped the install file, ran the app from my Downloads folder and moved it to Applications. It ran great for a few days and now fails to start. I uninstalled by moving the Plex Media Server to Trash and tried to download and install once again. Was able to download and unzip the app, but it failed to run.

I get the error "Not available outside your network".
My config:
PlexServer running on CentOS7
Netgear R6250 router running DD-WRT

I have put in a port forwarding for UDP port 32400. Other than this Plex seems to be running fine. Not sure what else I may be missing.

Would you like to have a subtitle sync option on the web player?
Something like that:

on roku since the last update 1.9.6.4429 anything I try to play gives a transcoder crashed or failed to load error. On the PC it just sits and spins never playing the movie. I've run install again in repair mode, no help there. I've deleted the appdata/microsoft/crypto/RSA folder and let the system rebuild it, no help there either. I've tried different rates to no avail. I can play the files using playon and media player on the roku, but plex is giving up. Its there a new transcoder file I can put in? Help?

Using latest Plex Media Server on Arch linux. Tried using various players including pmp, web and roku.
