Hey there,

Some of you may have followed the recent development on the original Subliminal.bundle by @bramwalet.

I've made some serious changes, improvements and bugfixes to Subliminal.bundle during the last few weeks, with the help of some very nice people such as @PMAdmin, @chopeta, @BlueToxic and others.

As the direction of this project has moved a long way, I thought it was time to evolve from simply being a personal fork of Subliminal.bundle to something more dedicated.

Plugin Description

Sub-Zero aims to solve your subtitle problems by automatically downloading the hopefully best subtitles there are, for your individual video file.

Subtitles are a problem? Yep, they definitely are. I myself use this plugin on a daily basis as my wife has a serious hearing condition where subtitles help us to be able to watch our favourite TV series and movies together. Subtitles pose a generic struggle: matching your media file perfectly. This is as hard as it gets. Thankfully there are a bunch of libraries and services out there, that help with that.

Sub-Zero is far from being perfect, but with recent development and planned features, we're really getting there.

Its core is based on the works of Diaoul, who created the subliminal library, as well as enzyme, to parse MKV metadata. In addition to that Sub-Zero uses the extremely well-made guessit library made by wackou.

Sub-Zero still is under heavy development but has recently reached a stable state. I need you to report bugs and tell me your opinion on new features.

Manual Installation

• go to Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/
• remove old versions (rm -r Sub-Zero.bundle)
• get the current version from here
• unpack it
• restart your plex media server!

Usage

• go to Settings -> Server -> Agents -> Movies/TV Shows
• select the metadata provider you use on your library, e.g.: Freebase (movies) or TheTVDB (series)
• enable Sub-Zero Subtitles (TV/Movies)
• configure them
• refresh your library (or individual movies/TV shows)

Use the following agent order:

1. Sub-Zero Subtitles (TV/Movies)
2. Local Media Assets (TV/Movies)
3. anything else

Attention: If you don't include the source/format (HDTV, BluRay, etc.) in your TV media file names, lower the minimum TV score to 330, otherwise you get no subtitles!

Hello, being new to PLEX as a DLNA server, I'm curious if there is a way to get the PLEX iOS application to display the Album Title in bold rather than the Artist Name? It seems to insist on doing this whether the user sorts by Album or Artist. Thanks

I installed it yesterday and saw that it was scanning my media libraries, but today I can't contact it. Why did it stop working and how I get it going again?

I'm in the Alpha Ring for the xbox Insiders. The latest update, 08/07, brought a new UI to the xbox. It also brought grey borders to the top and bottom of 1080 videos.

It goes without saying, it really sucks. I checked Netflix, and the 1080 streams there are still black on the letterbox borders.

Picture aint the greatest in the low light, but you can see the grey on the bottom part pretty well.

Seems like the original thread was deleted, or I can no longer find it; but the problem still exists after months (if not a year). Plex is still transcoding files that simply don't need to be transcoded and killing my server in the process. Despite folks sending samples, logs, etc. this remained unanswered and ignored and now the thread has vanished. Anyone got any ideas?

I have an issue with watching one of my OTA channels live on my Shield. I can watch the channel on other devices, just not shield. It says connection to server failed. It looks like its trying to direct play but the shield client has an issue. A quick work around would be to transcode. Recorded files of this channel also fail.

I also don't care for the quality of how the shield handles interlaced channels and it seems Plex server does a better job of de-interlacing.

Anyway I can force live TV to transcode for Shield?(and no, changing the quality level to some absurd level isn't an acceptable way)

After several hours over the phone with two different people from Microsoft support, they were unable to do anything and suggested a clean re-install. Note the Plex server was running OK after this update. I ultimately had to re-install the OS and all applications.

Now when I install the Plex Media Server, it appears to go OK with no feedback of any problems. When launched it goes nowhere, looks like it is endlessly searching.

On the service listing Plex Media Server IS NOT present. The Plex Update service is the only "Plex" entity listed and it is running. Tried uninstall and re-install several times, once running as administrator. The Plex server is listed in the start-up group and it's enabled.

Anyone with ideas?

Your new web player is horrible. I'm not even updating my server because you are forcing this massive mistake into that update. The UI is worse, its full of bugs, it doesnt work correctly on mobile. None of these issues existed on the previous player. The one major issue your web player had, LOSS OF AUDIO SYNC WITH VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, you seem to not have addressed. What's the deal? I was very close to purchasing a plex lifetime pass so I could have better server remote access options and financially support your amazing software that I use EVERY DAY. Now tho, I can't do it in good conscience. I need to know you are going to either fix these bugs, improve the UI, or simply roll back to the previous version.

These errors are GLARING! It's as if this went tho absolutely no QA. I am not alone. I havent seen anyone who doesn't dislike this or isnt suffering these horrendous bugs. Also... how about you address the audio sync issue if you are going to spend time "fixing and improving" it. That's my rant. Someone either chime in and prove me wrong or add your disdain for 3.20.x web player. Thanks.

Installation:

• This channel can be installed via WebTools.bundle or manually follow the directions below.
• Extract zip file downloaded from github to the Plex Media Server Plug-ins folder and rename the folder to FMoviesPlus.bundle. Restart Plex Media Server.
• Unix based platforms need to chown plex:plex -R FMoviesPlus.bundle after moving it into the Plug-ins directory (user:group may differ by platform)
• Recommended: Installing UnSupported Services by Twoure will allow playback via many other supported hosts.

Note: This channel plugin has a number of its own plugins and libraries which can take from a few seconds to a couple of minutes to Initialize after Installation or whenever PMS is restarted.

New automation routine for reqkey cookie. Details on how to set them up are discussed below. You only need 1 of them. Thanks to @Twoure for both the methods.

Note: Important Please read

As of v. 0.37 (July-11-2017) the site seems to not use the cookie token anymore, though it still has it in its code. I'm going to leave that in the channel plugin code incase it is back. So now resetting cookie wont dump any token code and also Webhook (hook.io) and Node.Js parts of the code are not being used (Automation methods discussed below) and not required. The session/cf cookie is still used so Reset Cookie can still fix cookie related issues.

Method 1: Installing a JRE (Java Runtime Engine) like Node.js

The preferred automation routine for the cookie requires a JRE installed on the PMS machine. There are a few other JRE's that might work as well but I have only tested this with Node.js. Once installed restart your PMS and confirm in your channel log if possible and see the following entries to confirm..

Then navigate to the Reset Cookie and try a video and check if you are still getting the token error.

Method 2: Using a webhook url - please fork the one below and use your own

The other automation method (primarily where JRE cannot be installed) utilizes a website to run a small script to decode (similar to the manual process using jsfiddle). It is limited to 1000 request per month with their free plan so I request everyone to signup for the free account and fork this script https://hook.io/coder-alpha/test/fork and then enter it under the Channel settings/Prefs

Once you have updated the Settings/Prefs with your webhook-url navigate to Reset Cookie and then try a video and check if you are still getting the token error.

Once you have got one of the above methods working you can set your Cache expiry time to 100 (min.). This will fetch new cookies at that interval. I think the session cookie are valid for 2 hrs.

Method 3: Manual method using jsfiddle

Troubleshooting: General

Restarting PMS can work wonders too in fixing issues and shoo away the ghosts of Plex
Some simple troubleshooting steps that might be useful.

Under Options > Clear Cache (can solve issues if a bad or old copy of a webpage is in memory)
Under Options > Reset Cookies (can solve bad/old cookie values that might be in memory)
If using a browser Clear browser cache or you can use the Inspect tool (Chrome) and Disable cache which works great after performing the first 2 options.
Restarting PMS can solve issues with variables in memory, including cache and cookies.

This is only recommended if the plugin never worked (could be due to a faulty install) and if the above does not solve then the following steps are to perform a fresh install. Save your Bookmarks via Options > Tools before doing so. You will lose your Recent Watchlist.

Via WebTool > Unistall & Install
If you dont have WebTools. Use Factory Reset under Options which will clear all stored variables (including Bookmarks, Recent, and other/all settings). Delete the FMoviesPlus.bundle from your Plex plugins folder. Download a new copy and install.

Troubleshooting: Errors

Video Unavailable. Error: Video Token Algo or
Video Unavailable. Error: Unknown error

• When the site's algorithm to serve the video link changes.
  => Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. If issue persists please report on this thread.

Video Unavailable. Error: Token

• When the session/cloudflare cookie is expired or has issues.
  => Set Base Site URL under the channel settings/prefs to fmovies.is.
  If that does not resolve. Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. If issue persists please report on this thread.

Error: The page was not received.

• The site might be slow to respond.
  => Give it a few seconds and try again.
  If that does not resolve. Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. If issue persists please report on this thread.

Channel not responding

• This error can occur when using the Plex-Web client for a variety of reasons. The timeout for Plex-web client is set by Plex for 20 seconds which is not enough to make certain requests to websites which might need consecutive requests to retrieve a page/video. If the process is not completed within its timeout then you might see this error. This error can also occur when the site has changed its formatting of the webpage served and the channel plugin code cannot cope up with the changes. This error can also happen due to Plex-web caching an incorrect previous response in the browser cache.
  => Give it a few seconds and try again.
  -- If that does not resolve. Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. Clear your browser cache and try again.
  
  -- Additionally, you can enable/disable some options under the Channel Prefs/Settings which will reduce unwanted requests being made. Those are No Extra Info. for Nav. Pages (Speeds Up Navigation) - enable it & Use LinkChecker for Videos - disable it.

The whole family has given up on the Channels feature. Every time someone--including myself--navigates around the channels and try watching something, 95% of the time we just get the popup "This show does not have any unlocked videos available." At the very least, if you won't hide a channel/show with no content, at least give us some kind of visual clue so we don't waste time clicking on it, getting a popup error, then losing our navigation location on the page (i.e. closing the popup always jumps you to the top of the page).

So tell me, why is there a channel or a show w/in the channel that has no content? Why should we even see it at all?

Having a channel show without any content is like advertising a car and only when someone walks into the show room and talks to a salesperson are they told "that car isn't available."

It's almost like we're being penalized for a Plex feature not having any content available.

I logged into my acct on cell phone. It said an update was available, and that I should be ready to accept the update on the computer. I started the update on my phone, and went to the Mac where I saw an update installing. Now, nothing can access my server which was just called PlexServ. But, but phone accesses everything when directed to the FamilyMac....which is not what the server was ever named. When reinstalled Plex Server on the Mac...it just says cannot find PlexServ. ???????

Hello all,

I am trying to set my brother up with plex at his home and we installed the plex server and launched it. When he signs in he gets a "Your credentials have expired. Please sign in again".

So we tried that, it always comes back. We tried resetting the password, and not clicking the google sign in button instead and using the email sign in. Same issue. If we ignore it, it just sits there looking for servers, and the server tab under settings is not there.

When i log in with my account, it works fine, shows local server, and the server tab is there.

So then i tried his account on at my house, same issue as what we have at his. server tab missing, looking for servers, Your credentials have expired. Please sign in again.

What gives? This is his account btw.

I'm unable to sign on to https://app.plex.tv.

"There was a problem signing in to Plex."
"Invalid Credentials."
"The password or username is incorrect." (They are not.)

These pop up in an endless loop, in no particular pattern I can discern. Occasionally I appear to have succeeded, only to be thrown back into the sign on loop when I attempt to do anything.

Needless to say, I'm not able to sign on with the Media Player app either. I am able to web-access the server, using the same ID.

I've had to register a dummy account even to post this.

I've cleared all Plex-related content from my browser cache and cookies, delete all of Plex from my system (including Application Support and other normally hidden files) restarted my server (which runs on another host), and reinstalled Plex Media Player. All to no avail.

My wife and I both use the Xbox and also Plex on it. We love it.

What we don't love is going to launch Plex, and it giving the web address to re-link out account. Basically if I do it on my account it works fine and signs in automatically. BUT, when my wife goes to her account, it also asks for the link address. If she fixes it, mine is now broken. It seems like I can only have ONE person signed in with Plex.

I hope this isn't by design. All of this is on the same Xbox One console.
