[REL] TV-Headend Next Generation

What can this channel do for you:

  • Stream TV from a TV-Headend service to web, mobile devices and Plex Home Theatre.
  • Choose between many different resolutions to reduce the datarate at mobile usage.
  • The tagged channels will be displayed as different bouquets.

 

What are the requirements?

  • Latest git checkout of TV-Headend. The new of the development introduced api is needed.
  • A little bit more cpu ressources, because this plugin relies on transcoding.

 

Where can I download the latest release of this channel?

PMS has 2 movies that will not work or delete themselves or update --Ideas?

Stumped here..

I've tried removing the 2 files (Clear Present Danger and Close Encounters) in question from the folder / library.. Then did the Plex Dance a few times.
They still remain blank thumbnails even after they are not in that HD's folder / library.
Re-Adding the 2 movies back to folder / library, Plex Dancing with them now present, same blank thumbs and error loading them.

I get...

Please visit our forums if you continue to experience problems
And here I am...

I then moved them to another movie folder I have and they load and show fine.. But, the two dead blank copies remain in the previous folder / library.

I've also tried a scandisk and defrag thinking bad sector.
Possibly a corrupt database?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. LOG Files Attached.

Syno DS112 mit Plex Version Arm 7 lässt sich nicht installieren

Hallo

Wir haben ein Problem mit Plex auf einer Synology DS 112, mit CPU MARVELL Kirkwood 88F6282, (Marvell Kirkwood ARMv5TE compliant (Feroceon® family), mit DSM 6.1.1, 15101 Update 1 und möchten die neuestePlex-Version neu installieren.

Nun gibt es aber bei Plex.tv nur die Auswahl Intel, Intel 64, oder Arm7. Die CPU ist aber Arm5.
Was nun?

Wo finden wir eine Plex Version, die läuft auf der DS 112?

PMP 1.3.0 suddenly takes forever to start playing/resuming videos

I've been running PMP on an intel nuc (i3...something, forget exactly) for months..maybe even a year now, without issue, when suddenly tonight when I was watching a movie, it started lagging. Sometimes the UI was unresponsive. I tried troubleshooting my network, troubleshooting my device, can't seem to figure it out. Here's what I know:

  • Devices on wireless take ~1-2 seconds to start playing (normal). This includes Surface 4 and a Pixel Phone
  • Devices on the same switch have no problem (i7 PC)
  • High bitrate videos (4k 50Mbps+) have no problems on these other devices.

Sometimes the UI lags on my NUC, and I have to reboot it. Other times, it takes ~10-15 seconds to start playing. I've tried rebooting plex media server (running in a jail in FreeNAS 9.10.2), but that didnt make a difference. I'd be happy to post logs, but for the last 2 hours I've been tailing logs on both the PMP and PMS and have not seen anything really stand out as being wrong.

I've attached a good portion of the plexmediaplayer.log from the NUC, maybe it'll help. I can't seem to find any cause in there. Would be helpful if tools such as smartctl were included in the image so I could test my SSD

Raspberry Pi3, plex server wizard configuration or server tab are missing

I've performed installation of Plex Media Server on Raspberry Pi3, but i after perform logon <"ip_raspberry":32400/web>, the wizard for server configure is not appears, also the tab Server is missing.

I'm a newbie in linux, how i do it? I need to do a some commands? and which are?

Mac Mini als PMS - Buffering

Hallo zusammen,

bei mir hakeln alle Filme, egal welches Format, alle paar Sekunden und Buffern erst, um dann wieder nur paar Sekunden zu spielen, irgend jemand eine Idee, was falsch sein könnte?

Mein Setup:

  • MacMini mid 2011, 2,3 GHz i5, 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM - hier ist der PMS installiert
  • My Book Live 2TB - hier sind die Filme gespeichert
  • EasyBox 904 xDSL Router, hier hängt die NAS per LAN dran
  • PS4 App, Plex Media Player auf MacBook Pro sind die Clients

Ich habe nur die Standardeinstellungen genommen und nichts verändert, wie gesagt, sobald man einen Film startet fängt das Buffern an und man sieht alle paar Sekunden den nervigen sich drehen Kreis... :-/

Feature Request: Roku remote home button reurposed

This request was kind of brought up in 2015,

but I want to specifically ask that the Roku remote's home button be re-purposed when running Plex. If it can be done, I suggest a single press brings you back to the Plex home page, a second press takes you to Roku home. The would save so much time when I'm five menus deep.

Plex Home Theatre: Black Screen & Freeze on Commercial Break

I am running Plex Home Theatre on Windows 10 and connecting to my local Plex Server via ethernet. It's worked fine for a couple years, through various upgrades etc.

Now, starting about a month ago, any time there's a cut to a black screen or commercial break the whole player freezes and stops. I can't hit escape or otherwise exit Plex but I can alt-tab to another program or bring up task manager via clt-alt-del and kill the process.

I don't have this problem with the Plex Win10 App on the same machine, nor do I have it when I stream the same content from my phone to the Chromecast or watch on my laptop. It is only with the Plex for Home Theatre program (separate from the one in the Win10 store, which I feel is half-baked).

Anyone else have this bug? What have you done about it?

PMP Embedded Bluetooth Support

I currently run RasPlex, but I much prefer the look of PMP (have the same/similar looking client on my Fire TVs) so thought I would give it a try, the first thing I realised though is that it was running through CEC rather than the bluetooth dongle in my pi, in RasPlex I could pair the bluetooth dongle with my harmony remote, but in PMP there was no option that I could see, will this be added in the future?

Bluetooth responsiveness is 1000x better than IR/CEC, CEC through the harmony just makes the whole interface seem so laggy, when in reality (via bluetooth anyway) it's pretty snappy.

Can't get tv show to play

The Plex Alexa Skill seems to have a lot of trouble playing Doctor Who.
Everytime i ask Alexa to play doctor who on plex it Always says : "It looks like you were in the middle of Sicario, do you want to continue where you left off"

If i ask it to play a specific episode of the series, it asks if i want to play Scorpion. I don't have issues with other series.
I checked the Alexa command history and it recognizes Doctor Who correctly. Plex seems to dislike the show and play something else.

Any idea how i can get the correct series to play?

Audio files will not play

I have the server software installed on a Qnap Nas. I use a firetv and a nvidia shield and a ruko to access it. The video works fine, I have a audio collection it is all in a basic mp3 format. It does not matter which device I access it from including my computer, it will not play the audio files. I can start the first song in a album and it will skip from one song to the next without playing anything and it acts the same in all the different devices. I can use any number of other apps and I have no trouble playing the music without changing any settings. I would like to know why it is so much trouble to get a simple mp3 to play in the plex software?

Nvidia Shield REWIND 10 Sec Glitch on Plex App

This is really weird, while watching a movie, or music for no apparent reason the 1 device seems to "rewind +- 10 seconds) but i am using the word "rewind" loosely as I am not really sure what the device does, but it goes back and you watch the last 10 seconds or so over.... It almost seems like a "glitch" or something because my other Nvidia Shields do not ever **do it... It also happens completely at Random... i have tried to replicate the scenario on the same device and my other Shield devices with the same movie, song etc but it never does it at the same scene or time in a movie etc.... **Its completely RANDOM... However its sooooo irritating, as sometimes in a movie it can happen 6-10 times.... Arghhhhhh!!! hehe...
how do you figure out whats wrong... whats wrong here please?
I have a few Identical 2017 Nvidia Shields in my home, all connecting to a PMS Version 1.5.5.3634: Running on a Qnap TS 451+ running on Version 4.3.3. (2017/04/13).
The Plex Clients on the Nvidia Shields are all the same with the latest version installed... Plex Ver 5.8.0.475 (ca8ac9aab).

Why does the Plex player that is downloaded from the play store not play all codecs? it is heavily published it is supposed to work... what gives???It is installed with the latest 5.1 SW version... It is definitely the P2897, under the system info it shows it has version 5.6.1.505 updated on 6 March 2017... :neutral:

no subs seen?

My plex server can see some srt's but not others.
everything was great, all ways had subs on (wife is deaf) for years then over the last week or two it's all gone to pieces
i know its the server because the subs are not visible on the tele (samsung) or on the firesticks

at present got a p.c. pluged in to the tele so we can watch using media player classic which does show all the subs

this is obviously a server update problem (it used to work okay)

question... why mend something that isn't broke
it's been fine for years until the recent updates.. does anyone know an alternative to plex, 'cos i'm getting fed up with it now.

Philips Android TV struggels with 1080p

Dear all,

My Android TV is struggeling with 1080p movies. I have a Philips 65PUS7601 and the Plex Media Server is installed on my QNAP NAS. The whole network is on Gbit. The TV and the NAS are divided only by a Dell Gbit switch.
Yesterday I wanted to watch a 1080p movie. It started, but every 10-20 seconds it was stopping for 5 seconds and then it continued to stream. The file is almost 12GB big. When I start the movie I see only a black screen in the beginning and then a short notice that the network speed is not fast enough, but then it is continuing to stream.
The interesting thing is that my parents don't have this issue and they are connecting from their home with a Samsung Smart TV(TizenOS) UE60JU6900.
The movies aren't transcoded at all, at least in the settings it is set up like that.
I don't know what the issue is. If I switch the Audio to AC3 it becomes worse. The movie isn't showing up and the audio is stuttering.

I attach both logs. The issue was yesterday evening between 10:10pm and 10:30pm. I hope someone can help me with that and let me know if you need more information.

PMS and Plex Client with no Internet - Make it work "offline"

How do i get this to work in "offline mode" so to speak. PS, i cant and dont want to use my cellphone for a hotspot... I would like a solution to get this to work when the internet is down... I want to be able to do the neccesary when the internet is up, make the neccesary precautions and when its down my whole household doesn't go down too....

I want all my Plex clients (Nvidia Shields 2017 models) to be able to view my library and play movies series etc....

the question is how do i get this to work PURELY OFFLINE when the internet is down? THANKS!!!

Problem with music - "Media Player Error! Resetting."

I suspect it's some sort of issue with my device? Video plays fine on my mk802, music won't play however.

 

Music works fine on my Droid 4 (via LTE), as well as nexus 7 (via the same wifi network as the 802), just seems to be the Rikomagic device that's having an issue.

 

I'm using Plex for Plexpass 3.14, and PMS 0.9.8.6. Tried re-installing the app, clearing data, restarting the device... No idea why it's unhappy.

 

Music will play if I browse to the plex/web URL and play from there.

 

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix, or setting I might have wrong?

[Permission BUG] Cannot change volume using plex companion on Shield (CEC)

Hello,

Just bought a shield, and I totally love it. Plex is really smooth on it, I just noticed this slight bug:

Setup:
- Shield connected to AVR connected to Sony TV (android TV as well)
- Shield: Volume CEC: enabled
- Plex 5.4.3.131 (on phone, shield & TV)

What works:
- Changing the volume with the shield remote works fine, using CEC it changes the volume on the AVR
- Changing the volume with another app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.bouyguestelecom.remote&hl=en) works fine as well. Using CEC it changes the volume on the AVR
- Changing volume on the plex installed directly on the TV using companion works fine. It changes the volume on the AVR using CEC
- On the shield, if I disable CEC volume control, I am able to change the volume using plex companion

What does not work
- Changing volume (CEC volume enabled) on the plex installed on the shield using companion does not work. No volume change occurs.

I am not sure if this is a plex bug or a shield one, as I do get different behavior with the exact same version whether it run on my TV directly or the shield. My guess so far is that it might be related to some changes in Android OS (Lollipop vs nougat), especially the permission system. It could be that plex needs additional permission to change the volume on Nougat.

I will go through logs and add them later on.
