Featured/Recommended Movies
For real Plex. When are you going to make it easy for us to "Recommend" or "Highlight" movies or other content on our plex servers?
It should be as easy in any client or web browser just to click "Recommend" or "Highlight" and it should then pop up at the first page (Dock) in a new section called "Featured" or "Recommended". I want to be able to highlight or recommended movies. This is NOT hard to implement!
Are you going to fix this?!

Subtitles not working with PMS v1.4.1
Hello,
After upgrading PMS to v1.4.1 subtitles are not working anymore on Samsung app v2.007.
Basically the subtitles are detected, you can select your subtitle but is not displayed on your TV.
I've tested on two TV's and I'm encountering the same issue. With other devices or PLEX Web everything is working fine.
P.S. This issue is not reproduced on PMS v1.3.x

Setting up Harmony 900 to use Plex Media Player on Mac Mini
I am having trouble setting up my Harmony 900 to work the Plex Media Player on my Mac Mini. The Mac Mini is inside a tv cabinet and stays on at all times (also the server). The Harmony IR blaster is inside the cabinet as well.
When I hit the "Watch Plex" activity, I need it to turn on the TV, Bose Cinemate and make sure the TV is set to HDMI 2. This isn't the part giving me trouble. Then I would like it to launch the player or at the very least, there be a button on the remote dedicated to launching the player. Then of course be able to navigate the library and basic playback controls.
First step is adding the correct "device". I believe this is where I went wrong in my initial efforts.
Once the device is added correctly, then how do I set up the activity to simply perform the above activities?
I just want things to be as easy as possible for my wife and guests. I do have an XBox One connected as well, and she knows how to navigate the Netflix app on that, so watching Plex via the XBox is an option, but it would be streaming vs. direct connect (I think).
Any suggestions?

I just updated plex and now i get this "Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failde to install" on so many shows, i have restart the computer - made repairs and noting works, how can i fix this.

How do I do a library refresh on the new web portal?
It appears that plex just did a substantial change to the web-based portal. And now I can't figure out how to refresh a library.
There used to be a refresh icon on the bar across the top. It's gone now. How do I trigger a refresh?
Like... I just added a new movie, mp3, or directory of photos. What do I click on now to get it loaded?

Samsung LE46C750 no 3D
Plex app version 1.019
TV 3D Support: Yes
Server: Pogoplug running Synology "PlexMediaServer-0.9.11.16.958-80f1748-arm"
Filename: Azoren1.HSBS.1080p.mkv
Screen is flashing 2-3 times, looks like app trying to activate 3D but then movie plays plain SBS, not 3D.

Lots of movies and music not playing, may have imported from iTunes Missing HD where movie located
Many items, music .. and video appear but don't play. I get a message that says "Uh-oh" and "Couldn't create playback session for this item.
I have a very large collection of movies, tv shows, and music .. which is stored on 4 hard drives that are at my summer home. These items appear in my iTunes directory but report missing when I play them. Is it possible that Plex is using the info, and not the movie to create phantom items in the Plex database?
If that's the cause of the problem, is there a way to rescan my Plex Library for the missing items and automatically delete them. I hope so or I'll be busy reviewing and deleting them from my database.
Else, any ideas.

Is this thing dead or what?
Hi,
I've been a long time "defender" of the decision to abandon PHT and move on to PMP. But recently I started to wonder where Plex's priorities have gone to. PMP's first release was in October 2015, where a huge outcry happened from the community. Plex promised to deliver updates and make PMP as good - if not better - than PHT.
I am not seeing that anymore. There used to be weekly status updates and all that, but we're not getting even that anymore. Instead, we see a whole lot of effort being put in other projects, like Plex for Kodi. And instead of delivering the long promised UI overhaul of PMP we get a web interface in PMP that essentially displays Plex/Web inside PMP. Really?
I am starting to lose faith here.

TIVO Roamio "..." Issue
I'm having an issue with my TiVo Roamio. Since the latest server update, I get "..." In the center of my screen when playing video, then after approx a minute, Plex gIves error, unable to start video. This happens to all videos. Strangely enough the TiVo Minis work fine.

Subtitles don't play...
Subtitles that are not part of the movie file won't play on my tv. They are in the same directory as the movie file and listed as English.srt they are present if I run Plex on my computer in a browser. Not sure what to try... I did change to file name to example (Lion (2016) .en.forced.srt) to no avail. Help please...

Hi, I have some series that are numbered sequentially instead of by season and episode number. Instead of Plex making use of the knowledge of the number of eps per season and splitting them up appropriately it takes the first number as the season number... for example episode 300 which is in season 9 comes up as season 3 in Plex because it starts with a 3 (even though there are no separators between the 3 and 00)

Update software on Drobo NAS
Hi, usually I get a prompt to update my Plex software running on Drobo NAS but since about 3 months I have not be able to upgrade the Plex software on my Drobo 5N.
Anyone that can please help me to get my Plex updated would be appreciated.
I did actually go through the long process of deleting Plex from my Drobo and reinstalling (thinking it would pick up the new version but nope, it didn't)

Playback distortion/rainbows with bright scenes on original quality playback
Has anyone else experienced playback distortion with bright scenes? I get like a rainbow flash during playback but only when playing at original quality. If I force transcode the file plays back fine. If I play at original on my computer it plays fine. I'm going to try to get a picture of what I mean, but it's easiest to hit on animated films since they have a lot of bright scenes.

How to manually install the Plex App
There are several ways to install a Drobo App onto the Drobo 5N.
From your host connect to the DroboApps share using explorer for Windows, finder for Mac, and command-line if using Linux (e.g. afp://[DroboIP]/DroboApps.) If you get prompted to authenticate to this network share, you should provide the Drobo Dashboard admin username and password.
Once connected to this share, place the Plex.tgz file to be installed onto this share.
Notice that nothing has happened to this file, this is because the Drobo hasn’t been instructed to install this application. If you already have access to the Drobo via SSH, you could just execute the following command
/bin/sh /usr/bin/DroboApps.sh install
If SSH access is not yet enabled, a reboot of the Drobo should be sufficient. Upon boot, Drobo will look into the DroboApps share to see if there are any applications that need to be installed. Once the unsupported Drobo App is installed, it will show up in Drobo Dashboard.
