Plex cannot get metadata since some weeks .
In auto or manual, when i search the movie with the title, anything.

So i tested manually, if i do a curl command with :
curl http://127.0.0.1:32400/services/tmdb?uri=/movie/tt0361748?append_to_response=releases,credits&language=

Result : 401 Unauthorized.

Same with IMDB, Plex Movie....

Same with Public address.

I already add the local address and external in List of networks that are allowed without auth.
Same....

Someone have an idea ?

For the past few weeks my roku 3 has been slow to start playback. Navigating libraries and searching is fine but when I select a movie I get 'loading' overlay when it is going to the info screen. I also get 'loading' when starting playback. Sometimes up to 15 seconds; it was near instantaneous before. Once playback starts I have no buffering. Roku, pc, and nas are all ethernet. Tried factory reset of roku last night; no improvement. I am using opendns on my router but my pc uses google dns, 8.8.8.8

How can I tell if my roku is using local network instead of internet?

I have PLEX Media Server Version 2.13.0 running on QNAP TS-251. It is connected to the AV Receiver and TV. I am using the Smart TV primarily to play music and videos through the AV Receiver. Works out quite well.

QUESTION:
Does Media Server support creating and importing of PLAYLISTS?

I am able to create playlists using the web interface. But those playlists are not shown on the Media Server. And the web player is not connected to AV Receiver, and the audio output cannot be redirected to the QNAP.

Pas de saison 2, pas de saison 4, et la saison 1 je n'ai qu'un épisode qui dur 7 minutes alors que dans mon dossier j'ai 4.avi qui rassemble tous les episodes d'1h30...

Il y a pas un moyen de régler ça?

I couldn't find any solutions for this in the forum, so I wrote a quick script to do this myself. If anyone has ideas for improvements let me know.
Here is the script and explanation/notes follow:

My Libraries are located under /media for my install.
I created a pre-roll library.
I downloaded some pre-roll video into my library. Then I created a default.mkv file by copying an existing video to that. I had to split the video as Plex recognized that it was a duplicate. Then I copied the url for my default.mkv file and pasted that in the pre-roll location in extras.
The script is located in my root directory in the jail that my plex media server is running in for freenas.
I'm assuming that all my pre-roll video files are mkv. If the formats are different then the script will not work as the default.mkv file will obviously not be the right type.
The script is running as root.
Finally, I set up a cronjob to run the script once a day at 3am:

I have an apple lightning digital av adaptor to connect to my to via hdmi. When I plug the iPhone or iPad into the to the TV audio is played through the TV but picture does not show on either the TV or iOS device.

Any ideas? I read there was a TV out option in Plex but was unable to see it

I noticed today on one of my computers running OPHT that it was transcoding. I checked my settings and it was correctly set to play local files "direct play". I had the remote play setting as 2 mbps. When I changed the latter to direct play my files then played correctly. It seems that it is not treating the file as a local file, when in fact it is. Perhaps this is a PMS issue, though?

I always thought it would be cool to have a display outside my media room that would show the poster of the movie or TV show that is currently playing. I searched the internet and found similar projects, which were all windows programs. There was just one problem… I wanted to run this project on a Raspberry Pi 3 running Linux. So, unsatisfied with the solutions I found online, I decided to build my own.

Prerequisites :
A functioning Plex Server
Web Server – I am running NGINX
PHP – I am running version 5.6.22
Web Browser - I am running Chromium on a Raspberry Pi that is also running web server.
X-Plex-Token – Find out how to get your token here.

Features :
Custom Text on top and bottom of posters.
Cache posters locally.
Free.

Installation :
Copy all the files into the root of your web server.
Fix permission on cache folder (chmod 777 cache)
Edit the config.php file.
Open the URL to your server in a broswer.

I am nervous about releasing this to the public since I am still learning programming languages, but I thought someone might find it useful. If you modify the code to fix it or make it better please share back to the community.

Also if you have trouble installing please read the blog post. I have some tips at the bottom of the post that might help. If you are still having trouble getting it to work please post here or on the GitHub page. I will try and help.

Chi mi vuole aggiungere il mio nick e accacciocla al momento condivido poco materiale ma mi sto organizzando.

So my files were stored on my NAS in the mediashare\movies and mediashare\music folders. I installed Plex and got it setup and working fine but Plex copied all those files to the media_jails\plex\media and music folders respectively. I figure it imported everything to help users skip a step of moving them to the NAS first.

Can I just delete the mediashare\movies and music folders now that they are in the media_jails folders? Or does that break the sync or something? I am running out of space on my NAS now.

I usually use my Plex server unauthenticated. While playing with the parameter, I noticed this one doesn't work: if there is anything valid in this list, clients MUST authenticate, even if their IP address are in the list - and anyway if the server is unauthenticated, the client can't find it after authentication...

After recent update i have got strange issue with my combo:

• DS216play
• Samsung Smart TV

Im mostly watching videos/series downloaded from same torrent place. Yesterday all was fine and ALL videos was playing grate true DS216play on my Samsung by Special Plex App on Smart TV.
But today most of them stoped working - and I'm getting message: "This server is not powerful to convert this video"
Most funny that files which yesterday was working perfectly now stop playing. So its not a Video file problem.
I made no changes to Plex Server setting last days. Only one thing change - this update.

I was lucky to start some videos, but they are from other torrent site.
The funny thing is that "working" and "not working" video files are same format - .mkv

What shell i do?

as for now, sounds like I should not upgrade DSM to the major new version 6.1, too severe changes in DSM to be a guinea pig and avoiding hassle. "Never touch a running system" so to speak :)

Also in the DSM 6.1 readme:
"Due to infrastructure update, packages will need re-initialization after upgrading to DSM 6.1. The process will occupy a higher CPU usage and can take up to an hour depending on the number of packages installed."

What does this mean for a big Plex library?

Anyone wants to share their thoughts or even experience with DSM 6.1 using Plex, PlexPy & Comm. pythton 2.7 (needed by PlexPy). Any Feedbacks well appreciated!

Your connection to the server is not fast enough to stream this video. Check your network or try a lower quality.

I'm getting the above fairly frequently when using the Plex Web player (http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html).
Am I not streaming the video directly off my own hard drive? I'm not trying to stream to a different PC or player, it's what is on the same hard drive as Plex. Am I doing something wrong or am I not understanding something??

and no: movie and TV are just fine. tested with another TV (same problem) and WDTV media player. definitely the plex app for ps4 that has that problem.

I have my child setup on an ipad to watch only kids movies-and I keep seeing movie trailers on there-which I do not want my child to see.. I turned every possible trailer option off on my server, but they still show up on the ipad and there are no options to turn off on the ipad. Any help would be much appreciated..
