I decided to Make my own post as it was derailing some other peoples post and information was hard to track.
After setting up my WD4100 a few days ago, I noticed that it was working fine except for the first time I used it the next day.
I discovered that the WD4100 supported upgrading the memory so I put some New pc3l memory in it that I had lying around. I maxed it out at 16gb.
The next day the same thing happened. so I went to this forum to see if anyone had experienced the same. I did not see any so I posted.
What I have tried
Disabling power saving in the Wd4100
disabling secure connections
This morning it was the same thing. Memory usage was at 28% and plex was not accessible. No using the configure button from the Nas, not using my laptop, not using the xbox one.
I got media not accessible on my pc, I got unexpected Error on my xbox one. when I tried to click on the configure button from the Nas it just timed out. Turning plex off and then back on again got it working again.
After turning plex on and then off Memory usage dropped to 3.6%.
Last night after when I went to bed memory usage was at 5% While streaming it never get higher than 3%.
There is something that plex is doing overnight that is using up memory and causing plex to stop responding.
I think I will try to disable the Maintenance that plex is scheduled to run at 2am to see if that is what is causing it. Perhaps it is having a problem and locking up the system , that would explain the ram usage.
Any input is appreciated. and I am more that happy to assist support in troubleshooting.
