Just to start...I rip all my files in full resolution from blu-rays into mkv files. I do not compress them or change the format in any other manner.
I have had a few playback issues with some of the local extras on a few movies. I normally have my settings on the Plex app set to play Original, 1080P. All my movies have not had any issues playing on this setting. However, on some of the local extras when I try to play them they appear to "crash" the Plex app. You can hear the sound with no picture or the picture will lock up or stutter heavily. If I try to use the menu or home buttons to back out of the app, generally there is no response or an extremely delayed one. Sometimes I can get back to the ATV home screen, but the audio from the file will still be playing the in background. The only fix I've been able to find is to lower the playback quality to 720P. It seems to be hit and miss though as to which ones will lock up and which one won't. I'm assuming it may be a codec/transcoding issue with ATV, but has anyone else had any issues like this or have any solutions?
