I was trying to get remote access working (low and behold, despite it saying it couldn't connect in Plex, it indeed works). One of the things I did in my troubleshooting was update Plex. After the update, all video playback is choppy. It's evenly choppy throughout all playback whether directly from the NAS or remotely. I can however access the NAS without Plex and play the media on VLC without the choppiness (but my blu-ray and TVs require the plex). The audio always stays smooth throughout.
The only two changes before the choppiness was the update and turning UPnP on in the router. Turning it off makes no change. Plex ran great until the update and now it's unusable until I figure out how to make the playback smooth.
This occurs from my Mac (Snow Leopard), Windows 7, Windows 10, Samsung BR, Sony TV. Prior to those two changes PMS ran awesome. It doesn't seem limited to a specific file type
FreeNAS with Plex jacked into DD_WRT router, most devices wireless except one. All have the problem, again whether logging in remotely or simply going to the IP of Plex (url from within FreeNAS).
I've read all sorts of similar but not identical issues and tried various things, but there is no change. It simply doesn't work in a usable way anymore.
Any ideas? Settings I can change?
