Okay long story short. Sorry, as short as possible.
Okay currently I have my iMac that streams all my content to my apple Tv's x3 over my Wifi - Home network. My content is on my apple time campus and my iMac is the hub, iTunes that it streams from.
Issue,
Hate to have to wake up my iMac in my office to play a movie at 1am in the bedroom.
Solution, Plex!
Okay so i want to get away with using my iMac for streaming.
xxx I will not be, repeat will not be streaming my movies or content from anywhere else but my home xxx
--- I am looking at the NAS solution for my problem.
will be streaming to my Vizio smart tv, using Plex App, and all my apple tv's who have Plex.
All of my content is either a .Mp4 or .M4v --- by way of Handbreak
I have spent the better part of 3 days researching Plex and NAS systems.
I am looking for suggestions to all of my issues, what is my best way around this.
I am looking at the QNAP TVS-471-i3-US 4Bay, I think this might be overkill since everything is already transcoded, and will always be transcoded to .mp4 or .m4v.
I be honest I don't think I will be watching or listening to anything on more than one device at a time, maybe 2 devices at the same time on a rare occasion.
Wondering if the QNAP TVS-463-US 4Bay will be sufficient for my use.
Any help would be amazing because this is really keeping me up at night.
