Hello,
I'm requesting assistance with playback of my media files. I cannot play any media across any of my devices with the Plex apps regardless of platform; including playing files through the web app within PMS. I am not sure what changed exactly or whether it's a Plex issue innately or a configuration issue on my server but nothing plays back.
Plex apps, including my Roku, iPhone 8, Amazon Fire TV return errors on all files in my database. The errors are typically: " Couldn't retrieve the play queue for this item, Please try again". The Fire TV will often lose connectivity with the server and default to a remote "friend" server instead. All local devices operate on the same network; some wired, other clients wireless but all on the same subnet. I haven't tested for bandwidth or throughput issues but there is no other evidence indicating a problem.
Even more disconcerting, playing media through the server itself returns the error "Conversion failed: A required codec couldn't be found or failed to install."
This occurs on both new and old media that previously had no issues with playback. Obviously, something is wrong. Kindly see attached log files and note my setup below.
I would appreciate any help as I am not sure where to start. I apologize in advance if the issue is obvious and I missed it.
Troubleshooting:
1. Rebooted Server
2. Power cycled all network devices
3. Insured router firmware is up to date
4. Power cycled all Plex client hardware devices
5. Tested other apps (internet/WAN) from client devices to ensure connectivity
Setup:
PMS vs 1.12.1.4885
Installed on: Win 10 Pro 64 bit i7 3770 3.4 Ghz w/ 12GB RAM
Plex media installed on an array of local discs connected through SATA within the server (i.e. no NAS, etc..)
