I am encountering "Server settings are unavailable." on QNAP TS-251 while I attempt to add Subtitles to local media.

plex 1.2(DVR beta). All DLNA services to my Sony BDP S5200 no longer work. They worked prior, and anything that is mp4 or mpeg2 works fine, but it won't even start a transcode, no matter what settings I change in the DLNA profile. Any ideas besides a full reinstall(I would rather avoid, as I have a large library that takes a long time to find it all). I can't even find the XML profiles for the DLNA profiles in my user profile folders. OS is Windows server 2012 r2.

I've recently realized that Plex keeps re-opening a particular mpeg-ts file and keeps it open, reading from it for a long time, and then repeating. I suspect that it is trying to generate thumbnails or something like that and having trouble. I haven't seen the file name show up in the logs. So...

Any suggestions on what to do? The TS is h.264 on the video stream, with multiple audio streams. I suspect it might be a bit wonky though, as mpc-hc only seems to be able to play the audio. WMP, however, seems to be able to play it fine.

I thought plex could handle the mpeg-ts ok, but maybe not?

Introduction

This plug-in was created for personal usage stream from my HDHomeRun PRIME to Roku 3. This allows up to 3 TV streams to be viewed by 3 different clients simultaneously. Due to Plex limitations with live streams, I  wouldn't recommend buying a HDHomeRun device solely to run with Plex and this Plug In. This plug-in should work with DLNA-enabled HDHomeRun (PRIME, PLUS, DUAL Gen 4).

How do I fix the subtitles so its normal white? The subtitles is black on the Plex Web App, Plex Android app, Plex PS3 app and Plex PS4 app. But the subitiles are normal on iOS. This is very frustrating! I can't see the subtitles because of this.

I did not have this problem before. It just suddenly was black one day...

For the last few weeks I've started getting a rather bad stutter playing media that I've never had problems with before. It feels like a memory leak or similar as it gets worse as I play content. Most of the time I'll pick a TV show and either play it serially or randomly sorta for background. Everything starts off just fine but after several hours, say 4+, things start to stutter. It gets worse as time goes on, at first it'll stutter once every few minutes then say an hour later it'll be 5 times every few minutes and so on. When this happens it's very difficult to even get the content to pause or to get the TV to do anything (menus, volume, etc). Eventually the only fix is to turn off the TV and reboot everything. I go back in and the cycle repeats, I start where I left off - now with no stutter at all. Then after a few hours it starts up again. If it plays media for say 8 hours straight many times I can't even power it off by the remote or TV, I have to yank the power cord.

No changes to my server in a while, i7 6750, 32GB, GTX 1080, gigabit, Drobo NAS (server running on PC, media on NAS). No other issues on the network nor any high utilization on the server. Load on the server when this happens is very low, in short I'm near positive it's the app and not the server.

Any thoughts gents? As you'd imagine it's rather frustrating...

With the latest versions of Plex (both 1.3.3.3148-b38628e and the 1.4 Redux) transcoding of MPEG-TS streams on Fedora 25 fails with.
Note: I know tvheadend is unsupported, but this same issue shows up on other plugins as well such as Mythtv and other live tv plugins.

Downgrading to 1.2x versions works. Seems like this is related to the transcoder. currently the first real error is:

I’m trying to setup the Plex Server (ver5.4.3.131) on Nvidia Shield (OS ver 7.0) and am having some difficulties getting it to see folders on my mounted Synology NAS drive. I’ve had the Plex Server running on the NAS drive for a while without any issues. However, on the Shield, when I try to add a folder for a library, the Plex app shows me two options: internal storage or the NAS drive. There are no folders listed on the NAS drive. Trying to add them manually doesn’t seem to work (though I could be referencing the path incorrectly).

Other apps on the Shield are able to access folders and files on the NAS drive okay. What am I doing wrong?

I've got a Mac Mini with some drives shared over SMB. I created a new user on the mini and gave that user read/write access to those folders.

The Shield sees the Mini in the network settings fine. But entering the credentials always fails with a "Connection Failed. Incorrect Username or Password" error.

These exact credentials work fine connecting to the same shares from a windows box also on my network.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help?

Sync is still broken 3 months on even in latest release (android 5.4 and server1.3.3.3148)
When TV shows are set to sync only unwatched items it removes the watched items from the synced mobile but you can never delete the episode fromPlex server ever..
If you do so it changes the status of the show in Sync from Pending to "There is an error with this item" and will nop longer sync any more episodes.
Trying to sync without choosing unwatched items only is worse as then it simply never removes anything from the device and the first time you delete something you get stuck wth the same error again.
Any chance of getting some actual support for a paid for product from anyone?

Up until last week I was able to use Plex Server and Plex Client on my Nvidia to watch my media files which are stored in local QNAP NAS. Then last week there was an Android update to Nvidia and also I believe PLex server was updated as well. Since that update Plex Client is unable to play the same files from the same NAS. The error message says that the file isn't accessible. Note that I run also Kodi on Nvidia and it isable to play the same files both before and after the update.

I recently bought a Nvidia Shield TV to serve as my plex server (currently - previously - using NAS for the server) I primarily got the Shield to be my Plex Server so I could transcode on the fly if needed. Got everything up and running and it's working great - but a little dissapointed to discover that of the 787 movies I have only 782 are being found by plex. What's really odd is when I run a scan it finds the additional films - donwloads metadata for them and then promptly deletes them so I always return to 782. My movies are stored on my NAS in the recommended format directory structure etc.

As an added oddity (which makes me wonder whether this is a Nvidia Problem) when I look through the NAS folder (using ES File Explorer) the five or so movie files which Plex has deleted don't show up their (though they haven't been deleted from the NAS and are available and playable

The thing is that even though the show exists in multiple online databases, obviously it does in its traditional format only. So, how would you organize it? (For the record, Chronologically LOST is a single season of 101 episodes.)

We have decided to lock the other Debian thread and start a new one so I can edit the first post since Origin is no longer and has not been maintaing this package for a while.

All credits goes to Tobias and the other at Plex for PMS and the init script for Debian were made by Origin. I have just taken all there work and efforts and repacked it for Debian since the ubuntu package is not compatible since the change to upstart.

Down here is the instructions for installing PMS from my repo. This packages is for now compatible with Debian Squeeze , Wheezy and OpenMediaVault 0.3 , 0.4

First Time install

Plex was working fine for a long time on my amazon fire tv now when i try to start it gives me this error message....i have tried to uninstall and reinstall the app and the issue still persists....

Hello! When booting up, Plex attempts to connect to serval different IP addresses.. Little snitch reports some as plex.tv, which I don't mind letting through. Others, however, are to just IP addresses that I can't find any information on who they are. For example, 45.79.10.123 or 45.79.198.112 on port 443.

Does anyone know who or what these connections are? Are there a list of what addresses I need to allow through? Thanks!
