I have tried multiple times to optimize a 4k movie, but the process consistently fails. No information is given other than the fact that optimization of the file failed. I have previously optimized multiple 4k movies without difficulty. I tried running the optimize feature on several of these previously successful files and they now consistently fail as well. Nothing has changed in my setup other than updates to the Plex Media server as they are released. I am running Plex media server (Version 1.13.2.5154) on a Windows 10 computer that has no other programs running. Media is stored on a separate unRaid server that has ample storage space available. Any help on figuring out what is going wrong would be greatly appreciated. Logs attached.

Server Keeps Crashing

I am doing some rearranging of my titles. Last night I altered some libraries, adding "Collections" etc.
This morning I woke up to my Plex server crashed. Weird. Restarted it.
Today I have been doing some things like add movies to collections and re-group some movies with multiple versions etc. I'm doing this via the desktop app on another PC on my LAN.
In the process of doing this the server has crashed at least 3 times in an hour, causing me to have to restart. Something's not right. If I look in the local log folder on my server box (Win10-64) it shows 5 crash reports successfully sent to Plex. This is the contents of the latest one:

Moving from macOS based Plex Media Server to freenas and running into trouble
I followed the steps as described in what seems to be the official Plex guide (https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/) but when I get to the step of "Launch Plex Web App
Open your Plex Web App and you should see your libraries, though your content is unlikely to work yet." I don't see any of my libraries there. Something is missing somewhere. Is there a newer guide that I should be using somewhere else? Thanks!

Rare issue - degrading frame rate
During playback for at least 30 mins I notice that sometimes frame rate is degraded to like 12-16 fps. Resolution is to restart Plex app and resume playback. Fast forward, Pause/Play, Stop/Resume operations rarely help. No specific actions during the issue noticed on the network, like updates, NAS problems, router/switch functioning issues.
This is not related to poor NAS or network HW or 4K HEVC. Same happens on 1080p movies with bandwidth under 20Mpbs requirements.

(New) Android app plex server selection
How in the world did you guys think it was a good idea to combine all of the TV shows or Movies for ALL of my servers and all of the servers shared with me into one page?
Seriously?
Please give us the ability to select a server and THEN see the stuff that's on that server.
This is absolute garbage.
Why fix something that's not broken? Old version was just fine and worked as it should in regards to selecting a server and then from there see what that server has.

Transfer Plex Media Server library from MacOS to WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra
Hello everyone.
I have an iMac with Plex Media Server and a library folder with all my metadata and art for my multiple libraries. Now I recently buy a NAS WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra and I want to copy the Plex Media Server folder from my iMac to my NAS. I follwed the steps on the plex page with ssh, but once I put all the command in terminal (scp /Users/myuser/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server shd@192.168.x.x:/mnt/HD/HD_a2/plex_conf/) the terminal ask me for "password", but I enter the ssh password for my NAS (The one I entered early to connect via ssh) but the answer i receive is "Permission denied, please try again." I dont know what is wrong, or if this is other password I dont know what is. Please, can you help me?? is very important for me because my Library is about 30GB and I expend a lot of time to create it, so I need to copy to my new NAS. Thanks and sorry for my english.

Ich habe jede Datei als MKV zur Verfügung. Eine 20 Minuten-Folge ist etwa 1 bis 1,2 GB groß. Wenn man 50 Folgen hat, ist das eine Menge Holz.

Consistent problems with Plex on AppleTV
My AppleTV seems to have developed some consistent problems when using the Plex App. It will seem to randomly lose connection to my server while in the middle of playing a show or movie. Sometimes I will get a Unable to create a playback session error then it appears to be hung trying to re-connect to the Plex Server.
This seems to have picked frequency now, anyone seen this or have suggestions to help track it down? It only seems to affect my AppleTV my wife has not noticed any problems with our older Roku HD.

"Failed to run the package service" since 1.13.2.5154

I've recently updated to "PlexMediaServer-1.13.2.5154-fd05be322-x86_64.spk" manually from the Package Center, but I am now facing "Failed to run the package service" messages from the Package Manager GUI. Trying to do so from the CLI results in:

Trying the script as provided in link results in the same errors - although the last line does keep an blinking underscore visible - indicating that the script is still running? Doing a 'netstat -ntlp' in a different screen does not show port 32400 as listening tho (or any port with Plex Media Server as Program Name).

Windows 10 64bit Install issue
I have a problem with the install on my 64bit version of windows 10.

OS Version: Windows 10 Pro (1803) 5/24/2018 Build 17134.81
Symptoms:
No Icon on desktop
No Icon in Task Bar
Missing Folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex
Missing Folder: C:\Program Files\Plex
Missing Folder: C:\Users(user)\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server
Missing RegKey: KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc
Shows as installed in Apps & features
Program installs but will not Launch when you press the Launch button.
What I have tried so far:
Reboot, Reboot, Reboot
Uninstall
Reboot
Check for and remove all traces in all the places plex is supposed to be.
Reinstall (right click 'Run as Administrator')
Will not lauch
Reboot
Run Windows in Safe Mode and look for all traces of Plex and uninstall and remove.
Turn off Anti-Virus
Reinstall
The uninstall location listed in Apps & features shows as:
C:\PROGRAMDATA\PACKAGE CACHE{703F6F53-A980-40A6-AF98-742126FB8C87}\
Altho when I installed I selected C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex

Prefer QSV over NVENC?
Hey all! This one is a little weird, but bear with me: I've got a media server that not only plays host to PMS, but also is a Steam In-Home streaming server for a pair of Mac laptops. In this arrangement, ideally, the system would be configured to do the following:
1) Plex would own the CPU's iGPU, using QSV to do video encoding
2) Steam would own the Nvidia GPU, using NVENC to do encoding for streaming
Currently, Steam allows me to disable QSV, leaving only NVENC, but I don't see a similar option for Plex, and Plex prefers NVENC over QSV implicitly. Is there a way to flip that up so Plex only uses QSV?

HDR playback on Sony KD65A1 with grey bars
Hello,
if I playback an 4K HDR file with latest Plex Server and AndroidTV version I'm having grey bars on top and bottom.
These are the cinemascope bars that should be black. If I disable HDR mode, the bars are black again.
This only happens with Plex. If I play it with DLNA the bars stay black, even if HDR is enabled.
Plex is playing them with "direct play".
Any suggestions?

I am thinking of purchasing a WD 1 TB My Passport Wireless Pro as a Plex Server. The question is can I use Plex Connect with this device? As I only have an Apple TV2.

Plex Upgrade Changed Things-Help Requested
I was on a very stable past version (1.8-something), when one of the kids saw an update was available... Now, I have a couple of things I could use some help sorting out.
1) In Settings>Web>General, automatic sign-in and Theme music will not stay selected if the computer is shut down. Does Plex not keep these settings?
2) I no longer have the gear (Settings) icon in Playlists. It's now a grid symbol that does nothing. I seem to remember I had this problem when I started using Plex. I checked my past posts, and I did ask about it, but no answers.
I did solve that by going from IE to FF. I'd been using Waterfox for some time, since. Thinking changing browsers again would solve this, I tried IE and Edge. All three still have the grid, and none save the settings in question 1.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Basically it takes forever to load the movie section. And once it does, the titles and artwork are blank for a long time, usually longer than seen in this video. TV section is much faster, but wouldn’t mind if it were quicker. My simple setup works like this:
WHS2011, gigabit connection running PMS, up to date.
Odroid C2 with Plex for kodi Addon. Running latest version of libreelec and PFK Addon.
Movie library contains about 1700 titles. I’ve moved the metadata to an SSD drive and done all the appropriate registry editing.
Any idea what this could be? Suggestions welcome!

Have signed out of secondary username/email and ready to resign but no go.
Any suggestions. Have already modified registry entries as suggested and all seems ready to reclaim Server under PlexPass user but seems to have been lost in system

Can't connect to the web interface anymore (FreeNAS)
Since a few weeks back I am unable to find my Plex configuration website, is is seeking for the server but can't find it. The server is obviously running because I can watch movies from my desktop and HTPC, but I am unable to connect to: https://app.plex.tv,:32400/web/index.html# or the link directly from the FreeNAS plugins.
I am running version 1.12.2.4929 of Plex Server inFreeNAS-9.10.2-U6 (which is the latest available update from the web-gui). Can anyone guide me in the right direction? I have added some movies but the covers is wrong and right now I am unable to adjust it.

PMP jumps from full screen into windowed mode on "first" video play, stays full screen after that.
Hi all,
Bit of a weird one that has started happening for no apparent reason.
My latest version of PMP running on latest version of Windows 10 (HDR On) starts in full screen as you would expect without issue. I can then navigate and play a video file which will play for about 2 or 3 seconds in full screen then Plex will switch into windowed mode with the video still playing.
I of course then go into setting, set it back to full screen and then start the video again, this time it will play as expected in full screen.
I have attached the logs, but nothing jumped out to me about why this would be happening. Especially why it would happen on "first run" but not from there on out until the next session.
Any ideas on what to test?

Any idea what this could be? Suggestions welcome! This behaviour does not occur on my Apple TV with Plex app. Super fast there, no issues. No issues either from a Pc or Mac client in my house - can only assume it’s centric to the PFK plugin.
