Hello folks,

Ive looked over many threads and ultimately have become confused with this whole ordeal.
I have a Plex media server with an i5-3470 and a GT 1030.
I do not have a plex pass, ive heard this may play a part in this (GPU trans coding)
Is my GT 1030 actually being used and will it allow for more streams than just the i5-3470? I do not expect more than two 1080p streams at the same time but it needs to work reliably and not drop frames or anything.
If its not helping, ill just throw it in a mini ITX HTPC rig im building for a friend.
Recently, I am unable to control the volume when casting to my Chromecast device from the Plex app on my Android device (Nexus 6). Regardless of where the volume slider is set, the output is 100% except when the slider is at 0, then the volume is off. Plex is the only app seeming to have this issue, as other apps control the Chromecast volume normally. I've tested this on multiple Chromecast devices as well.
Hi,
My setup is the following:
Plexserver = QNAP TVS-471
Plex client= WebOS plex app on LG OLED65c7v connected via ethernet)
Problem:
I can play my 4K movies with HDR activated perfectly but only when I disable the subtitles. If I use the embedded subtitles, the server starts transcoding and the movie stutters and HDR is never activated.
What I have tried so far:
The above steps do not work and all give the same result.
I am not a native English speaker but my English is ok. So if the choice is HDR enabled or subtitles, it's an easy one. Still I would prefer to have the option to add subtitles.
Does anyone know of this issue and have a solution to it? (aside from hardcoding the subtitles which will take forever with my pc and moving the 4K movies back and forth between my NAS and PC)
Thanks for any info!
Bonjour à tous,
Avant de me lancer dans l'aventure, j'aimerais savoir si le liveTV et le DVR fonctionne bien dans nos contrés

Merci d'avance pour toutes vos contributions.

Hi Guys
I've started noticing that on my Shield TV, that the amount of episodes remaining in a season is incorrect. Say for example Suits, i have finished watching the most recent season, but on the poster when i'm browsing my media it would have the number 10 on the top corner. But when i click into the season, it shows all episodes are watched and they don't have the orange triangle in the corner. This also happens for other shows, and is not exclusive to Suits.
I have checked my other Plex players, iOS, Samsung (Orca's build) and Web, and these are showing the correct information. So it has to be something to do with the Shield TV, at least i think so.
I'm running my PMS on a Western Digital PR2100. I've updated the Shield and the PR2100 to the latest versions.
Any ideas?
All I want to do is open plex (web, android, shieldtv, etc) and tune in the weather channel. Instead I'm scrolling trying to find the specific title of whatever is broadcasting at that moment..
This is the worst TV guide / channel browsing I've ever seen.
Hi,
Iam loking for some information/guide for running PMS in windows docker container.
We’ve just released our biggest update to Plex for Sonos ever. We made significant changes to our backend service resulting in noticeable performance improvements and a much more reliable playback experience.

Please post any feedback or questions in the Plex for Sonos forum.
Any pointers appreciated. It's been awhile since I've used Plex under SONOS so I may have missed something along the way.
Hey,
I am attempting to create a Windows Docker Image for Plex Media Server and I ran into some trouble doing so.
Installing plex is not a problem using: "Plex.exe /quiet" to install plex.
This creates the Plex Media Server folder in Program files and starts the Plex update service process.
However the Plex Media Server itsself refuses to start.
My question:
Does anyone have any advice on getting Plex Media Server.exe to run as a process (headless). It just won't start. I tried both cmd and powershell. See the screenshot below:
Thanks in Advance,
If it works out I'll make the image publicly available.
Any help is most welcome.
Hi
With Sonos and its own library we can play different songs in different rooms at the same time.
Trying today with Plex as the server it only seems to allow one track at a time , is this the case or do we need to alter settings somehow?
Hi, i have an iMac with Plex Media Server installed (version 1.12.3.4973-215c28d86-OSX). I have a problem with pause function, when I pause the film and then I play it, after few second the film crash and I must restart it and check last point (it's very very stressful). I wait for long time an update that fix this bug, but nothing. Can i solve this problem with some setting in Plex Media Server or whatever?
Answer me please.
PLEASE!!!!
Flex TV. is a web application that interfaces between google Assistant and Plex to allow you to control playback of media using Actions for Google or IFTTT.
Additionally, it interfaces with the API's for Sonarr, Radarr, Couchpotato, Sickbeard, and Sickrage.
It also has customizeable webhooks, so you can basically control anything that has an open API with your voice. If you can send data to a URL to do a thing, you can program it in Flex TV.
Interested? Check out the Wiki to get started.
Also, there is now a web-only version in development, currently supporting only non-cast devices. I will be looking for beta testers for this service in the coming weeks, so if you're interested, please send me a PM with the email address you are registered to Plex with, as well as a hangouts address I can contact you at with further details. Read all about it here.
I'm brand new to the Plex world. I installed the Plex app from the LG Content store (version 2.1.0) on my LG OLED55B6V. I managed to add media files to the Plex server (on my pc), but when I want to browse through them, I can only see a media library with some thumbnails. It's one big chaos because I cannot see with one quick glance what's what. So I would like to access the files through a file browser interface (a bit like Windows Explorer), because I know where everything is located (file location). How do I do that on my LG TV?
I started watching a Spanish movie with forced English subtitles in OpenPHT on my Mac mini. Thought I should give the Apple TV Plex app a try, but the subtitles didn't show there. I checked the menu, and the subtitle track was checked on.
Any solutions on how to fix this?
When reproducing HDR videos narrower than 16:9 the black bars turn grey. Like in this picture:
It is really quite ugly and distracting. Any chance to make them pure black?
I am looking into purchasing a Plex Pass and using the live tv/dvr functionality and am look for advice on how to best set it up.
Currently I have my Plea Media Server set up on my desktop which is hard wired into my router via Ethernet. That Media Server is on my desktop with everything in an external portable hard drive.
What I'd like is to use the live tv/dvr with my tv in a room across the house but be able to record with the dvr to that external hard drive (whether in it's current location or my second desktop next to my tv).
The TV has wifi/plex media player so that's not an issue in itself.
I just can't figure out which antenna/tuner to buy (my parents have cable so ideally I'd just record that instead of OTA).
Thanks in advance.
I am running Windows 10 Pro 64bit. About a week ago, I started gettting a "Playback Error
Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install." error. It started with a single series, and now it happens with most of my media. I have tried several suggestions I found on reddit, primarily deleting the contents of "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Codecs". I tried deleting the contents. and restarting Plex. Didn't work. I tried deleting the entire Codecs folder and restarting. That recreated the Codecs directory and it's content. Still got the error. I went into "Codecs\7814ac9-1285-windows-i386" and noticed there are no files. Makes sense that a codec that doesn't exist cannot be started. I tried uninstall Plex, deleting C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\, and reinstalling Plex. Still nothing. So how do I fix this?
Hey everyone,
Early January I gave the very talented Sander a challenge, and we worked a week on it. The challenge was to try and create a Dreambox plugin which I could use in my setup which would fetch my cousins dreambox content.
I am pleased to say that we have a working first draft which you guys can tryout if you want to.
It uses the raw stream at a specific IP, but we also tried to build in support for having a transcoder at a seperate address in case people outside your network wants to view, but has limited bandwidth.
The development of that plugin is on hold at the moment, but you are welcome to try it out: https://github.com/sander1/Dreambox.bundle
EDIT: The above link is for the original version which now is outdated. The latest greeeny101-version can be found here: https://github.com/g...Dreambox.bundle
Go into the plugin, choose preferences. In the host field you add the IP address to your dreambox. In the "web interface port" you add the port which the web interface uses. This plugin uses the web interface to change channels. The field called "Streaming video port" should contain the port from which you stream transcoded material (if any).
Maybe in the future Sander will have time to help me flesh this out, but for now this is what exists. Let me know how it works for you guys.
Limitations: This plugin is only tested with the web interface that is called Enigma Web Interface - Pli Edition. Until more development is done to support the Dreambox API, no other web interface will work I believe.
