Hello - hopefully a Plex admin will see this. I asked it before but got no satisfying answer. Problem description:
Plex puts names of pictures (by numbers) most of the time in the proper order - however sometimes without any obvious reason - the order is not correct. Example: The order in the Windows explorer is ....Nick12-27, Nick12-28, Nick12-29, Nick12-30, Nick12-31, Nick12-32. In Plex I find Nick12-27, Nick12-28, Nick12-29, Nick12-30, Nick12-32, Nick12-31. Plex just refuses to put the pictures in the proper order and I have no clue why this happens. Unfortunately this happens all the time - but not always! (Screenshots available.)The idea to put "000" up front has no effect on this. With my 10.000 pictures I really need a reliable and correct order. What is wrong with Plex? Would really appreciate help to use Plex as I need it.

Plex Video not playing in Google Chrome browser. (Works aok in MS Edge browser)
Can't get any videos (live or recorded) to display in Google Chrome web browser. (Get sound though)
Videos play just fine in MS Edge browser on same computer.
Any ideas?

ALAC Support
Is it possible for Plex for Sonos to support direct playing of Apple Lossless (ALAC) files? I noticed Plex Server lossy compressed ALAC to AAC when playing Apple Lossless files on Sonos.
It seems Sonos does support Apple Lossless files, when importing library from SMB folders.

Plex for Samsung Tizen (3.2.2) not displaying videos Aspect Ratio correctly
Oh dear, version 3.1.0 was great but the latest 3.2.2 released this week is not displaying widescreen videos correctly.
I am no expert but I am guessing the aspect ratio is not being interpreted properly.
Certain videos (I can give you details of the MP4 file) that should be 16:9 or 2.35:1 are now appearing 'squashed in' from the sides.
I'll leave that one with you developers!

Not available outside your network
i am having an issue i get this error every few hours even when i am home. I have Verizon Fios 1gb speeds with there latest router. But yet i am still getting this error. it is very frustrating. I am techsavy but wha they are asking me to do to fix is above myknowledge

If I open the plexplugin I just get the three points ahowing loading or being busy
The login works fine on Windows Webbrowsers. But the plugin for kodi seems not being finishing the login or can not display the Plex overview screen.
Anything known ?

Feature Request - Plex Server Stop overwriting LOCKED movie titles!!
Manually went in and corrected video titles, specifically from a television series, so that the title that was displayed was the name of the episode, whilst the sort name was kept as the series title, volume #, and episode # as per the filename. Low and behold, after a few days, the LOCKED title field got reverted back to the sort name as per the filename. That is asinine. Plex ... PLEASE LET LOCKED MEAN LOCKED!!! Needless to say, I will not be renaming those 100+ episodes again.

Sorry, I'm having trouble accessing the plex skill right now.
I have been searching the internet for hours and have not found a consistent solution.
I am using an echo dot and amazon fire tv stick 2nd generation. The Plex skill has been enabled through the ios Alex App. The Plex server is accessible outside via opening the default Plex server port.
"Alexa, ask Plex to change my server" works great every time. She sees 2 servers.
"Alexa, ask Plex to change my player" also works great. If chrome is running she sees two players. If not she sees the the primary player which is "AFTT"
Those are the only ask Plex commands that work though. Every other command is met with "Sorry, I'm having trouble accessing the plex skill right now".
Example of commands that do not work:
"Alexa, ask Plex what's on deck"
"Alexa, ask Plex to play game of thrones"
I have tried restarting all devices and disabling and enabling the Plex skill to no avail. Amazon states that this is an issue with Plex and that I need to contact their support.
Is anyone able to help me?

Still Seeing Content on "Indirect" Connection - Does Plex Store My Content?
My question: Does Plex store my content (or samples of it of any kind) on a server I do not own? The reason I ask is this: My connection to my Plex Media Server (the device I own) is "indirect". I know that this is due to a double-NAT situation I have in my home network, which is a separate problem. The thing that confuses me is that I can still view my content (at a much-reduced quality) on a remote device (one that is outside my home network) despite the connection being broken by the double-NAT. How can I see that content if the connection is broken? Does Plex store my content? Does Plex store low-quality samples of my content? Or does "indirect" mean that my remote device can still reach my Plex Media Server despite the double-NAT? If so, why is the content quality reduced so much? I would think that double-NAT would either allow or prevent this connection, not reduce the quality. For example, a 2.7K resolution video is only showing at ~360p on this "indirect" connection.
Again, the double-NAT is not my issue, as I know how to resolve this. The question I have is around whether or not Plex stores my content outside of a device that I own.

Alright:
Playing video, open playback settings, press quality, press any option: nothing happens, the menu does not close, the setting doesn't change, literally the only thing that happens at all is the selection you made flashes to show you pressed it.
Playing music:
While a playlist is playing the 'add to queue' button adds music immediately after the currently playing song, the exact same thing the 'play next' button does
Music randomly stops playing in the middle of songs, song is still 'playing' according to the app/server but the timestamp/trackbar are not moving and no sound is playing.
When playing through a playlist songs verrry frequently fail to start staying at 0:00 untill you skip the song or restart playback.
The notification gets stuck even when nothing is playing.
Every. Single. Day. (usually 5-10times/day) I have to force stop the app via settings>apps>plex because it stops responding refusing any input altogether.
It crashes to the android home screen very frequently.

Always displayed in a lower quality than the file it's accessing
A slideshow is started automatically with no option to prevent this other than pausing the currently playing slideshow.
And to make things even better: when i report these issues I get told they don't exist and/or cant be reproduced.
I guess my question is is there anything this **** piece of **** of an app does correctly?
Sigh, why am I bothering.... Ill just get told there's nothing you can do, its just a piece of ****. Deal with it.

Plex Media Player opening off screen?
I have a Samsung TV and a monitor hooked up to my Windows 10 computer. Whenever I open Plex (version Version 3.39.5) these days the app opens off both screens where I can't reach it at all. Fortunately, I use DisplayFusion, which allows me to right click the program in the taskbar, and hit "move to next screen" so that I can actually see and use the application. In spite of this workaround, I'd really like a fix so that app opens on at least one of my monitors. I have a multiple monitor set up on another computer, and have never had the same issue. Both machines are running the latest Plex app and Windows 10.

PR4100 or PR2100 for PLEX Media Server
Hello,
My goal is to set up a PLEX media server in my house for my movies, home videos, music, photos, etc. I want to use either the PR2100 or the PR4100 - principally because of the Built-in hardware transcoding and the performance benefits I expect that to provide when video is streamed to various devices (tv, phones, tablets).
I am not concerned about using RAID 5 or 10 mode in the 4100. I will be fine with just using RAID 1. However, I am concerned about my media library outgrowing the initial capacity down the road and thus am considering the 4100 as future-proofing me vs the 2100.
But, not being an expert with NAS, and being unfamiliar with the 4100 I have the following questions for you … If things won’t work the way I hope I will just buy a 2100 …
**Q1 .... **With the 4100 as an example can I do the following?
Drives 1 and 2 are 4 TB each set up in Raid 1 - lets call this DriveSetA with 4TB usable capacity
Drives 3 and 4 are 4 TB each set up in Raid 1 - lets call this DriveSetB with 4TB usable capacity
So can I have 2 different Raid 1 drivesets within the 4100? And do the sizes of all 4 drives in this case have to be identical, or just each Raid 1 pair? Can DriveSetB be 6 TB drives each vs the 4TB drives in DriveSetA?
Q2 ... If I can have two different Raid 1 drivesets in the 4100 , can the PLEX server within the 4100 be used to hold and host movies on both DriveSetA AND on DriveSetB? Or can the PLEX server only have movies coming from one set of drives eg. DriveSetA ? The software based PLEX servers I’m familiar with only let you define ONE path for movies. A different path can be defined for music and home videos and photos but each topic (movies, music, home videos, photos) can only have 1 path defined. I don’t know if the hardware based server of the 4100 lets you define multiple paths for movies and the other topics.
I would expect I can have a different path for music than movies but the key question is whether the Plex server on the 4100 lets you have multiple paths for movies??
If not, can I at least specify that movies come from DriveSetA but home videos, music and photos are on DriveSetB?
****Q3 ...**** Assuming the multiple paths for movies works in Q2 above … Can I start with 2 drives in the 4100 (DriveSetA) now and at a later date, say 2 years down the road add Drives 3 and 4 to create DriveSetB. (again both sets are Raid 1) ? Will DriveSetA be deleted / impacted in any way if at a later date DriveSetB gets created? Or is it safest to start with all 4 drives at once and Create the two Raid 1 drivesets at the same time (less than ideal)?

PMP 2.7 subtitle switching bug
In PMP 2.6 (and below, for as long as I can remember), enabling/disabling subtitles during playback with the S hotkey simply toggled subtitle visibility. It did not interrupt playback at all.
After the update to PMP 2.7, the player pauses for "Buffering" briefly after pressing S. Additionally, enabling subtitles does not show any subtitles until the next start timecode—i.e. if the current playback position would be showing a subtitle that has already started, it does not appear upon enabling subs. (Previous versions of PMP show the current subtitle immediately, even if its start timecode has passed.)
And instead of making a dedicated thread: On going back to the dashboard after playback, I have once or twice gotten an error about the server "undefined" not supporting the Dashboard. This started with 2.7, and was not an issue in previous PMP releases.

Possibility to change temporary transcode folder on Shield
Hey there,
i just installed a SanDisk micro SD as internal storage on my shield and set the temp transcode folder to /internal/SanDisk/ (thats the path to the microSD). Even after a reboot i can't see Plex using this folder as the transcode folder..
I would like to outsource the temp transcode folder to a microSD card as i only have the 16GB version of the shield and would like to sync movies to my iPhone/iPad.. transcoding large files that are well over 16GB themselves is only possible if i can use a microSD (that is formatted as internal storage) as the destination for transcoded material..
Isn't this possible? I looked through the Shield Community and the Plex Forums and only found the issue that you cannot move the metadata folder as of yet..
One more thing: In case i get the transcode temp folder to be on my microSD, will this microSD be used as the final storage for the transcoded material or will i still get an error message as the PMS will only use the microSD as a "temp" folder while transcoding and afterwards try to add it to the (not available) internal storage afterwards?

Now playing notification stuck
Hello,
When casting to my chromecast audio, I do often get a stuck now playing notification. The plex application disconnect from the chromecast device, but the notification remain. The only way to get rid of it is to force close the plex app.

Please Help or at Least tell me if having similar issues. PLEASE!!!!
Setup:
Server is hosted at my House 120Mbps Download , 12Mbps Upload running on Intel Haswell i5 4670k 3.4Ghz
Player at my gf apartment - 60Mbps Down , 10Mbps Upload running on Xbox One(original) latest version 5.X.X.X as of 3/17/2018
What happening: I'll be watching a movie/tv show doesn't matter if I have quality set to 12,10,8 or 4Mbps at random anywhere between 10min and 60min the video will start "buffering" endlessly. Only way to get the video going again is to either change the quality or back out of the video and start it again. This has happened as oftern as 5times during an hour. Extremely annoying.
What I've Tried:Tried turning off "direct play" and "direct stream" in xbox app. Tried opening all plex ports and both remote and local router using static IP on xbox and server.
What I don't Know:
1.I don't know how to make sense of the logs if someone can point me in the direction I can write down exact times but there so many log files and don't know where I'm looking or what I'm looking for
2.Is this happening to anybody else on the xbox one? Is it just the app?
Please any help or suggestion would be monumental I don't know what else i can do at this point.
