Hello,
I have recent started getting a lot of Shaka 3016 errors. Its popping on multiple PCs, across Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. I thought it might be my main PC, but the secondary PC is getting the error as well, and a few friends are getting it via remote access. Is there any way to find out where the error is coming from? A PC restart was resolving it temporarily for a while, but its getting worse, and seems to be much more consistent now.
Any ideas would be very welcome!

Transcoder appears to crash when initiates. I have erased and reinstalled Plex 3 or 4 times. Running 1.10.1.4602 & all windows updates installed.

I have tried without any success to add my sinology library's to plex. 6 months ago it was all working perfectly and then it all just disappeared.
I have looked at number of help topics but haven't had any luck.
My computer understanding is basic so please go easy.

So I've got 1 upscaled 4K movie in HEVC (10GB) and the same movie in Native 1080p (10GB). I don't want to keep them both, so which one would give the best picture quality? I was thinking since the size is the same, then the Native 1080p version is less compressed? Is this right, or would the upscaled version fit my 4K TV better? The files are the same size (10GB). I am using the xPlay app for LG TV.
I have installed PMS from Synology's package center. I'm running PMS version 1.10.1.4602-f54242b6b
This issue has now happened the last 3 days. I have started a movie and after about 30 min it simply stops, then PMS reports there is a problem with playback. I try to restart and it won't pick up where it left off. If I restart from the beginning and fast forward to right before it paused it will stop again at the exact same spot. This is getting very frustrating.
I tried to change the directory where the temp transcoding happened, but that didn't seem to have any effect. Or am I supposed to restart PMS after I make that change?
Logs from today are attached.
Any guidance as to why this is happening and how to resolve would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if any more info is needed.

Been struggling with this for the past week and not making much progress.
Was working perfectly as a Plex Server for a year with Win10 on it until I had to mess around with it 
Upgraded it to the latest Win10
Upgraded the BIOS of the Minix PC
Installed VNC Connect.
And things started to go wrong - essentially the unit disconnects from the network when using Plex to stream content. Plex is not reachable and neither is the unit on the local LAN......no IP Connectivity.
Or when using VNC and Plex simultaneously.
In order to bring it back - I either have to wait for a hour OR reboot the box. As a Plex server the unit is no longer functional as this defeats the purpose....
Plex has been setup correctly - reachable both internally and externally - so that is not the issue.
Connectivity is via Ethernet - 100MB FULL.
I have since
Fresh install W10
Downgraded from Win10 to Win8.1 with a fresh install twice.
Updated the drivers for graphics, Realtek USB
Reinstalled Plex numerous times
Firewall & Defender and OFF
Has anyone experienced similar issues before and if so how did you resolve them?
Once I get back home I will be able to access the logs and post them to assist with troubleshooting.
While trying to play a copy of Harry Potter encoded in 4k HEVC and AAC 7.1, I am able to direct stream the video file but it attempts to transcode the audio. When playing it on the Apple TV 4K, I hear no audio. On the plex for vizio app, I can direct play it and it will play just perfectly, audio and all.
Different movie - Inception, same video but AAC 5.1. The issue here is that the center audio is coming from the right front speaker. Again it is transcoding the audio. Same thing when played on the plex for vizio app - everything is perfect.
I have searched quite a bit but haven't found a solid answer on when they will enable plex for apple tv to direct play things. Quite frankly I didn't think that it could even play mkv files - but the video does stream - the cpu usage on my synology is basically nonexistent. This is really frustrating after paying a large upfront fee for the lifetime shiny plex pass.
Help me obi wan kenobi - you're my only hope. Do I need to ditch the apple tv and go with something else?
Lastly, how do we get Plex's attention to these types of matters - this is my first post. Can we throw an @plex up in this house?
My Roku just installed the new Plex version. Since the install, none of the shows that I've recorded over the air using the DVR function are playable. It buffers to 99%, sits there for awhile and then shows a message that says "We could not play the selected video". Files play fine on all the other Plex apps I use (web, iOS). What happened Plex?!
I am trying to use a WinTV DualHD tuner to watch live tv with plex. Everything works fine for 30 seconds to a minute, then the video stops and buffers but never starts playing again. I occasionally get an error popup which says "shaka1001 network." Please see attached log files.
Running Roku Plex app v4.3 build 2.
I used to have 30 second skip forward and 10 seconds backward. Now it is 10 and 10.
Please bring it back!

Several weeks ago I updated my PMS to version 1.0.3.2461. Since then, my Windows 10 machine will not enter sleep mode as long as PMS is running. If Plex doesn't run, there's no problem at all.
This problem didn't exist before the last update. My computer could enter sleep mode while Plex was running. If I was trying to access it with a Plex client, a magic packet caused the computer to wake up and the client could get the information from the Plex server.
On the PMS settings page, it doesn't matter whether "Support Away Mode when preventing system sleep" is checked or not.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Title says it all. Plex keep crashing on PS4. Only way is to close the app before each use otherwise it'll crash after 1 min a video plays. Thanks for fixing this! It's been doing that since launch (more than 1 year...).

Plex Media Server version is 1.9.2.4285-9f65b88ae
When trying to put Windows 10 computer in to sleep mode, it won't go in to sleep mode with Plex Media Server running. When PMS is running; when typing 'powercfg -requests', run as administrator, at the DOS box, it comes up with PMS entries in the System and Awaymodes. Then, when trying to put in to sleep mode, it doesn't work.
However, when PMS is closed and then do the above, there are no entries, and sleep mode works OK.
Please advise if there will be a fix for this (so PMS can still run and also go in to sleep mode automatically) as it was working a couple of weeks ago. Thanks in advance.
I'm super happy now that Plex has a DVR function. It makes life so much easier not having to manage DVR, media center, and HTPC functions from three different apps. Plex DVR records scheduled TV programs through my HDhomerun flawlessly, and the Program Guide makes scheduling this simple. There one hiccup though. When it records a TV show, it does so with embedded subtitles. This is also great because it saves me from having to rely on external subtitle sources. The unfortunate part is that they don't show up on any Plex media player. I have tried the Amazon Fire app, the local PC and mac apps, and even the web player. None of these recognize any of the embedded subtitles. They just say None in the subtitle area of the program. I have have scoured the forums, and applied just about every fix I could find, including setting up the agents correctly within the Plex server settings. Nothing works. I know the subtitles are there because they show up when I play the .ts files in Kodi. I would rather not have to use Kodi to play my TV recordings. It would be nice to use Plex for this. Please help.
Hello , i have this Samsung smart tv 4k (UE43MU6122K ) when i try stream from my laptop with windows 10 and plex installed , the aspect ratio on the TV is WRONG on all movies , and the function from Samsung to change it to 16:9 is disabled when using the plex application that i have downloaded from app store , when i play the movies from usb or online the ratio 0is rather fine or at least i can change it because the TV use the Samsung app player for the movie and not the plex one! any idea how i can fix the aspect ratio ? i tried any method i read on the forum here , like the creation of 2 conf files etc etc but was dead end , no clue
Hello, forgive me if this has already been answered, I'm new to plex, and did a search of the forums and couldn't find anyone addressing this issue.
I have Plex Server running on my home PC, and I am unable to connect to files using the web app. I can play things just fine from other PCs in my home network, but I get this error whenever I try to play video content from a machine outside my home network.
I can access the server, and the server menu says my library is accessible outside my network, but when I try to play a video, I get a long(30 seconds to a minute) delay and then the above-mentioned error. Title Artwork and description info displays correctly, just the video won't play. The only other error I can find anywhere is on the status page, where I keep getting an error that says "Unable to Listen for Events on Library". This occurs about twice per minute.
My home PC is running Windows 10 and is more than adequate hardware-wise, as is the machine I'm trying to access it from remotely. I am currently using Chrome to view the web app, and I have gotten the same error in Opera as well.
Any ideas? I would post an error log but I can't seem to find a way to do that...

I have a personal video library with multiple viedeos sorted in folders;
I am missing the sor by folder feature since last release and have all videos in one place 
Videos do not contain any usable metadata and I was always using sort by folder.
Any way to get around it or get the sort by folder back?

My setup is Plex 1.9.0.4252 on Ubuntu server, streaming to an Apple TV (tvOS 11.0). With one movie in particular the sound will just stop while the video continues. If I pause and play, the sound will start up again. If I watch through web client, it seems to play (and the sound is) fine. Only thing I notice different is in the plex logs, when streaming to the Apple TV, I see the following message periodically:
DEBUG - Failed to stream media, client probably disconnected: 32 - Broken pipe
Also, the audio doesn't stop at the same point every time. If I start from the beginning it will sometimes pause at 1:23, then the next time it will make it through 5 minutes, or 2, or...
It is highly reproducible with this one video, but as it just started yesterday, I'm not sure if other videos will also have this problem.
I've restarted the Apple TV. Restarted the Plex server.
Any ideas?
