I am having an issue when using audio-passthru with Plex on Shield TV.

I keep getting periodic audio-drop outs. Audio goes silent for 1-2 sec then comes back on. Video keeps playing and as far as I can tell nothing is ever out-of-sync....when audio comes back on after a dropout everything is in sync.

This happens with all my .mkv files and is pretty random. Sometimes I can go entire first half of a movie without any dropouts then start getting them every few minutes.

My AVR does not show any indication of signal loss.

Both Plex app and Shield OS are latest versions.

When I have only my TV running on my local network I get the error " There is a problem playing this item." and "An unexpected error occurred downloading the media." and a box " Go Back"I
By clicking the go back box the media will restart at the fault location and continue until the fault repeats.
I am running an .MKV file generated from my DVD's.
I have noted an interesting item. This problem occurs only on my Samsung Television.
The TV is hard wired through my local network.
If I am steaming to my Kindle only this problem does not occur.
The Kindle is linked via WIFI on my network.
Also if I am streaming to my Kindle and the TV at the same time this error DOES NOT occur. With 2 devices running no faults occur.
With the TV only running I only get 1 to 4 minutes between faults.

I switched the TV to WIFI and the situation is identical whether the TV is hard wired or on the WIFI.

It appears that the problem is occurring because of a time out issue between the server and my TV on the either network. If the communications load is high enough the fault does not occur. (Speculation) If the server is being forced to a higher communication rate to service 2 devices the fault does not occur.

The problem did not occur until after I installed the upgrade in mid December. The problem has been consistent since that time.

If you have any thought on this problem please let me know.

Everything looks good on my server (i.e. no duplicates of movies), running latest server version 1.11.0.4666 but apple tv app is showing duplicate covers of some movies. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no difference. Duplicate covers have instead of title, year underneath, have title then "1movies" under title. Clicking on the duplicate cover takes me to the detail screen with no metadata but play shuffle buttons that will play the movie (like the "original cover" which has metadata, related movies, etc). Looking server side everything looks good with no duplicates so not sure what to do?

Does plex stream full quality FLAC files to the android player or does it transcode to 320 mp3 or something lossy like that? I've noticed that it will only seem to do lossy files when syncing.

When I log into my password protected user name, I can't see my server. If I log in with my kids account, server is there and accessible. I made a new user with all libraries available and was able to see the server without issues. Only my main user account that has admin rights and I've used forever doesn't work. Any ideas?

Hey forum, I bought a new samsung Qled QE55Q7CAM and installed Plex.
The application connected to the Plex MS with the Account but nommater which title I chose, I get a timeout and the Info "PLAYER_ERROR_CONNECTION_FAILED"

Hello everyone, I keep noticing that flac songs are scrobbles twice towards lastfm. I don't have the issue with mp3 songs.
Do you guys confirm this issue ?

Last few days I have had to restart media server at least daily for it to work. Sometimes it is hung up to where you can't even connect and sometimes it is hung to where a file will not play. It is happening at least once per day now last 3 days. I close it from the system tray, the icon goes away, but it will not restart. I end up having to kill it in task manager to get it to restart. Thanks in advance! Version 1.11.0.4666 on Win 10 x64

Can anybody see a reason why a Roku 3 would have this transcoded from Plex? When the plex client is on Auto, the video is transcoded (even though bitrate limit is set to 20 in Roku Client) and audio is transcoded to 5.1 Dolby Digital. Forcing direct play plays the file with no issues and full 6.1 sound.

Is there a change I can make in the Roku profile xml to get this to not transcode by default?

I'm using Plex server on a Synolody DS415 (ver 1.10.1.4602) and an Android Plex client on a BeeLink GT1 Ultimate under Android TV 7.1.2.
Actually have no sound !
When I try to activate Passthrough, only stereo movies works fine. When I try Passthrough and 5.1 movie, Plex says the connection to the server was lost.

Before the update, I was using Android TV 6.0 on my Beelink GT1 and all work fine!

Is there a solution to have sound with Android TV 7.1.2 ?

It is a first for me, a movie don't want to be played using the french audio stream. VLC is reading it fine, and Plex WEB too.
First play (french audio as default) : playing english audio, switchting to english : english audio, switch back to french : still english audio.

PMS and Client on the same local network.
I will have to check but I am fearly sure that the media is transcoded.

PMS v1.11.0.4666 on FreeBSD.

This used to work, now saves as a blank image on the device, sharing shows black background when attempting to share as well, has this been reported?

In library of ty Movie, when i want to see all the movies, it displays mix of collections and movies, which is quite confusing and makes the search quite complicated. It this a bug or feature? Why if i choose to see only collections can see collections and when pick movies get mix of all? Shouldn't be there "All", "Movies" and "Collections" then?

Installation:

• This channel can be installed via WebTools.bundle or manually follow the directions below.
• Extract zip file downloaded from github to the Plex Media Server Plug-ins folder and rename the folder to FMoviesPlus.bundle. Restart Plex Media Server.

Once installed then follow the instructions below to set their options:

• PhantomJS
  -- Enable Use OpenLoad and PhantomJS under the Channel Settings. Using the client you are using for playback navigate to FMoviesPlus > Options > Device Options and enable Use PhatomJS. You need to do this for each playback client.
• Cryptodome
  -- Ensure you have restarted the Channel and the host Mega is enabled, shows working and has no errors in its display. Some AntiVirus such as Norton seem to flag this library.

What are these binary files ?

• Cryptodome : PyCryptodome is a self-contained Python package of low-level cryptographic primitives
  -- A cryto library required for Host Mega to function. Mega only allows downloading files, not streaming. Currently, G2G and ALL-UC are the only providers that provide links for Mega.
• PhantomJS: PhantomJS is a headless WebKit scriptable with a JavaScript API
  -- A headless browser that allows opening webpages and extracting the final video url required for playback. Currently, OpenLoad is the only host utilizing this.

New automation routine for reqkey cookie. Details on how to set them up are discussed below. You only need 1 of them. Thanks to @Twoure for both the methods.

Note: Important Please read

As of v. 0.50 (Nov-2017) the site seems to not use the cookie token anymore, though it still has it in its code. I'm going to leave that in the channel plugin code incase it is back. So now resetting cookie wont dump any token code and also Webhook (hook.io) and Node.Js parts of the code are not being used (Automation methods discussed below) and not required. The session/cf cookie is still used so Reset Cookie can still fix cookie related issues.

Method 1: Installing a JRE (Java Runtime Engine) like Node.js

The preferred automation routine for the cookie requires a JRE installed on the PMS machine. There are a few other JRE's that might work as well but I have only tested this with Node.js. Once installed restart your PMS and confirm in your channel log if possible and see the following entries to confirm..

Then navigate to the Reset Cookie and try a video and check if you are still getting the token error.

Method 2: Using a webhook url - please fork the one below and use your own

The other automation method (primarily where JRE cannot be installed) utilizes a website to run a small script to decode (similar to the manual process using jsfiddle). It is limited to 1000 request per month with their free plan so I request everyone to signup for the free account and fork this script https://hook.io/coder-alpha/test/fork and then enter it under the Channel settings/Prefs

Once you have updated the Settings/Prefs with your webhook-url navigate to Reset Cookie and then try a video and check if you are still getting the token error.

Once you have got one of the above methods working you can set your Cache expiry time to 100 (min.). This will fetch new cookies at that interval. I think the session cookie are valid for 2 hrs.

Troubleshooting: General

Restarting PMS can work wonders too in fixing issues and shoo away the ghosts of Plex
Some simple troubleshooting steps that might be useful.

Under Options > Clear Cache (can solve issues if a bad or old copy of a webpage is in memory)
Under Options > Reset Cookies (can solve bad/old cookie values that might be in memory)
If using a browser Clear browser cache or you can use the Inspect tool (Chrome) and Disable cache which works great after performing the first 2 options.
Restarting PMS can solve issues with variables in memory, including cache and cookies.

This is only recommended if the plugin never worked (could be due to a faulty install) and if the above does not solve then the following steps are to perform a fresh install. Save your Bookmarks via Options > Tools before doing so. You will lose your Recent Watchlist.

Via WebTool > Unistall & Install
If you dont have WebTools. Use Factory Reset under Options which will clear all stored variables (including Bookmarks, Recent, and other/all settings). Delete the FMoviesPlus.bundle from your Plex plugins folder. Download a new copy and install.

Troubleshooting: Errors

• When the site's algorithm to serve the video link changes.
  => Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. If issue persists please report on this thread.

• When the session/cloudflare cookie is expired or has issues.
  => Set Base Site URL under the channel settings/prefs to fmovies.is.
  If that does not resolve. Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. If issue persists please report on this thread.

Error: The page was not received.

• The site might be slow to respond.
  => Give it a few seconds and try again.

Channel not responding

• This error can occur when using the Plex-Web client for a variety of reasons. The timeout for Plex-web client is set by Plex for 20 seconds which is not enough to make certain requests to websites which might need consecutive requests to retrieve a page/video. If the process is not completed within its timeout then you might see this error. This error can also occur when the site has changed its formatting of the webpage served and the channel plugin code cannot cope up with the changes. This error can also happen due to Plex-web caching an incorrect previous response in the browser cache.
  => Give it a few seconds and try again.
  -- If that does not resolve. Make sure you're on the latest version . If you still see the error try a 'Reset Cookie' & 'Clear Cache' to download new token/code and clear older retrieved links. Clear your browser cache and try again.
