Not sure if its a bug are it is intentional. But on the latest version of Plex. Background art no longer shows in the home menu on Android TV(Mi Box).
The last version that works is 6.7.1

Hi,
I am running PMS 1.9.6.4429 from Asustor AS-6204T NAS (I have upgraded the NAS memory to 16GB).
The media that I'm playing is MP4 (Video codec: H264, Audio codec: AAC).
I've checked this post and I have done the necessary things:
Interesting enough, the video stutter only happening when there are lots of moving/actions, and I monitored the CPU and memory usage, all is low (CPU: 36%, Memory: 22%) too!
The PMS settings (I cannot upload the attachment here, thus I'm using imgur):
The only thing that I haven't tried from the steps is to remove AES security on my wireless modem.
I am able to send the log file, but I don't think it is wise to send all of the log files, can you please let me know which one should I include in this post, for your better check?
Thanks
Hi Plex-Community, hi Plex SW programmers,
I have a big problem with my plexsoftware , which is running with Shield-TV. I'm using the newest Pex Software and as well the newest Shield Software. I want to use my shield-TV mainly as GUI for serching in my big audio database
The following problem occurs:
I have a big collection of Sampler CDs (Various Artists). So I have to search through the lists of my sampler albums.
Only the music title is shown in the list --> but NO artists !!! It's essential for me to see the artist otherwise I'm not able to go through the album.
Only when I playback one title the whole artist list of the album is shown.
I guess that it is a big bug in the software - It's extremely important to search with artist name otherwise Plex has no meaning for my usage.
I attached 4 photos for explanation:
(1) with artists - during playback.jpg ---> when I'm playback one title of the album
(2) no artists - without playback.jpg ---> list when I go through the list (of course normally I'm not playback the album when I'm scroll down the album to search something)
(3)tagging.jpg --> my taggings ---> this is showing my tagging
(4) Plex client on mobile.jpg ---> On my mobile phone (Plex client) every thing is showing perfectly even without playback ! In that way it should work on my Shield-TV.
Maybe somebody has the same problem?
Maybe somebody are able to help me. I have to admit I'm a PMS novice ;-)
Thanks a lot for a reply in advance!
So long !
Wolf
Hallo zusammen,

Hola;
He tenido que formatear el sistema operativo. Ya he instalado todo y tengo la copia de seguridad que hace cada 3 días. La pregunta es como recupero esa copia de seguridad a Plex.
Gracias.
Hi,
I manage to install and use a custom DLNA profile on a synology plex server, to stream ALAC audio file to Yamaha NX500. How can I add the same DLNA custom profile to a plex server installed on a Shield 2017 ? I cannot find where to put this profile on the Shield. I tried to create a Profiles directory on same level I found Logs (like it is on the syno) but this is not working... Thanks for any information.
Every time i try to sync a video I get this error "plex expected X-Plex-Sync-Version: 2" yet when I sync a music file it works fine. Tried to sync to my windows 10 laptop and my Android tablet but nothing is working. Worked fine yesterday!?!
Hi,
earlier I used PMS from WIN7 and everything worked good. Now I bought DS918+ and subtitles are not display when they are in mkv. I red that this model has no performance to transcode 1080 video (mkv with subtitle has to be transcoded, isn't it?). Is some optionst to do that? What about M2 cache other RAM module (I can extend from 4GB to 8GB) or it is all about weak CPU (can I boost it?)?
Solution with NAS is now worst for me, than origin solution with laptop.
Here's my setup. I created a OneDrive folder on my computer. I put all my content into that folder.
I then created a home server with a library that pointed to that folder. All the content from that folder synced perfectly.
Next, I followed the directions to create a cloud server with OneDrive. Linking the account seemed to work. I created a library and was able to see the available folders. I pointed this library to the same folder (OneDrive keeps your content both locally and in the cloud). It seems to begin syncing.
But then, for days and days afterwards, the library I created on my cloud server says this;
"Libraries are currently being updated
Hang tight while we look for your content"
The content never appears. I know the content is there. I can stream it from the same folder using Microsoft's Groove music player. Am I missing something? Why isn't it finding the content?
Any help would be great. Thanks.
Something on the server, keeps stopping playback on the TV shows and films.
I watch a film and it'll randomly stop, same on a TV show. If the show is on random then it'll skip to the next one. Both these things are very annoying.
I used to just do it to shows and because they were stored on an old hard drive I upgraded it hoping this would solve the issue but it doesn't. Now it happens on films too!
I say it's the server because this issue happens on the LG tv app and on the Chromecast.
Please help because this is becoming VERY annoying.
The TV app is lex for LG 3.13.3
I have attached the Server logs if anyone can help!
Thanks.
Hi, I’m trying to test the performance of my plex media server (2xE5-2650, 32GB). I played a 4k-file (10-bit hevc,23mbps) on my iphone and I can play a couple of minutes before it complains about my server is too slow. Looking into the activity monitor the server (ubuntu 16) is not using more than 25% of my total cpu power.
Any help on how I can utilize more of my cpu?
I need sometimes the path of the media file, since the movioes are spread over some NAS and not all NAS are always on. In the WIndows DeskTop I can find it (get more info), but in the Android app I can't find an option for this. Do I miss it or is this not available?
I have the Plex Web interface open on my iMac Plex server, and the Plex app running on my iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 11.1.2).
I have the app connected to the library on my iMac server. If I connect to the Plex Web by choosing 'Plex Web (Safari)' in the 'choose a player' menu on the iPhone, anything I do, like play/pause/next, make the phone app show a loading animation and nothing will happen on the web interface. Then I'll go back to the 'choose a player' menu and 'Plex Web (Safari)' won't be there anymore.
Using the Web interface with the mouse works fine, but when I use the phone to control it, it just barely works. The phone and the server are both running on the same network.
I even tried adding a manual connection in the iOS app but it can't even connect to the local IP address.
What can possibly be configured wrong? I just reinstalled iOS 11 and my server is up to date. Any help is really appreciated thanks.
Last week, I've started to move from using an EyeTV recording OTA shows on my Mac to using the Plex DVR with an HDHomeRun on FreeNAS (still OTA). I've had a couple of problems, one that eventually had me restart Plex. I wish I had captured images, but will describe what I can.
After a few days of DVR with a lot of items on the schedule, I noticed no new recordings were showing up. When I went to the Recording Schedule screen, there were 1 show on the previous day and 8ish shows on this day listed with a red dot and circle (if I recall correctly). It wasn't the in-progress indicator, so I guessed it was the transcoder. Clicking on one of these described the show with something like "recorded" or "record complete".
After clicking around the GUI and trying to play something on my iPhone (couldn't play anything), Plex started have problems. The Recording Schedule screen would no longer update, only showing a message that there was a problem.
I logged into FreeNAS and saw there were two transcodes in process, one being the first show with the icon I didn't recognize.
In the end, I restarted Plex, which took an extra long time to come up, but flushed the shows that were in this state and started working normally again.
My FreeNAS CPU is aging, so I suspect Plex was trying to transcode too much at one time for it. Under Plex -> Settings -> Server -> Transcoder, I changed "Transcoder quality" from Automatic to "Prefer Higher Speed Encoding" and "Maximum simultaneous video transcode" from 4 to 1.
Is there anything else I should tweak? Is there anything else I could've done to recovered and not lose recordings?
Edit: renamed Title to better reflect the issue

If it helps, (not sure who has access to this), my crashlog says it was successfully uploaded in the Plex Crash Uploader log file and the ID is 7072bd4f-6ae2-4e61-853c-2a7c80ecfdd3. My Crash Reports folder has many build numbered folders within, but they are all empty.
If more logs are needed to assist, please let me know and I'll upload.
Thanks!
