I am currently using Plexpy to automatically relaunch Plex after it crashes but unfortunately it doesn't work all the time and wouldn't you know it when I'm at work in a meeting I get text from the wife saying that the Plex server is down and it doesn't work. I would like to figure out why the Plex server constantly crashes and if there's a way to fix it.

Sync FLAC to tablets gives incorrect track lenth
This is continuation of question asked on iOS category "Music Sync, Wrong Length?" (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1334989/#Comment_1334989)
Looking through log files it seems like Server problem. So moved it here.
Setup:
Plex Server 1.3.3.31.48 running on Windows 10 Home ( i7-6700 with 32GB RAM)
Plex App 4.6.1 running on iOS10.2 (iPad mini4)
Problem Description:
sync FLAC file to iPad gives a copy of file that indicates wrong track length (see attach pictures of FLAC file info and screen shot of sync copy of file ... note the difference in track length). The sync copy plays fine pass indicated wrong track end (its just annoying AND cannot jump to part of track beyond indicated wrong track end)
Log Files:
To capture the problem. Removed all sync items from iPad. Then quit Plex Server. Then deleted all log files. Then started Plex Server. Then sync FLAC track to iPad. Then quit Plex Server. Then copy log files and post here.
In log files you can see that FFMPEG gives several "warnings"
[FFMPEG] - could not set input type (MF_E_INVALIDMEDIATYPE)
[FFMPEG] - Failed to open codec in av_find_stream_info
Also can see that the track length indicated is wrong (this wrong time is then indicated on sync copy of iPAD)

I don't even know where to begin.
Basically with no changes made to anything on the network new media on my Linux (arm) server it stopped allowing anything new to be played.
This is the weird things about it;
New files will not collect info about the files but about the shows it will. As in when I click on the ... at the bottom and click "more info" under media it is blank. But it will collect all the information on the show including posters and background art.
New media will not play. I get shaka1001 error when attempting to play in a browser. Yes I am fully up to date.
If I try to play on a console it just says cannot play.
To clarify all of the old media worked fine then ALL of the new media that was added from 2 days ago onwards refused to work. As in the new media never worked but allowed all of the old media to continue to work.
None of the new content is corrupt as it all plays when copied over to another system or device.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have optimised and cleaned. I have deleted and re-added libraries. I have deleted "Services.bundle". I have formatted drives. Nothing works.

PlexPy - Another Plex Monitoring Program
Introduction
Greetings all!
What started out as me trying to learn Python ended up being a quite useful app, so I thought I'd share what I've got so far.
This initially started out basically as a direct port of PlexWatchWeb from PHP to Python so it would be easier for most people to get running. I however am never satisfied so after much tinkering and tweaking I started slowly adding and fixing things that I thought needed attention.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about then that's fine too, if you came here to just find a tool to easily monitor and receive notify playback events from Plex you're at the right place.

PLEX LOCAL, besoin d'aide SVP

s'il vous plait j'ai besoin de quelques informations.
Je voudrais acheter un NAS (ou autre chose?) pour seule fonction de pouvoir :
-Mettre mes videos et photos dedans,
-Le brancher a mon téléviseur,
-Regarder en local mes contenus en HD
Je ne cherche pas a vouloir regarder mes fichiers a distance.
J'ai vu sur google plusieurs site qui disent qu'il faut acheter tel ou tel Nas, comme je ne comprend pas trop l'anglais j'ai du mal..
que signifie transcoding exactement? cela me concerne t-il si je veux uniquement visionner dans mon salon ?
Est ce qu'un nas peut remplacer mon ordi qui doit rester allumé pour utiliser plex?
Avez vous des modeles de nas a me conseiller ?

Is fanart coming to the Apple TV?
I have spent countless hours adding fanart to my library. I have a very big library and have invested a lot of time in PMS and would like to know if fanart will at some point make its way to the Apple TV 4? I hope so because if not it's a dealbreaker for me and my shiny new Apple TV will have to be retired on the shelf with past devices I no longer use.
Hoping I don't have to revert back to my Roku but will if this is the case. I know you developers don't like to say much but please at least let us know if it's in Apple TVs future. Also if a blur is used on the fanart again than that will count as no fanart, at least for me. If I can't see it proper then it's the same as not being there.

Sharing my server locally, but restricting Internet access: possible?
Hi,
I want to share my Plex server (local only) with the downstairs neighbor. In order to do so, he would connect to my WiFi network (unless there is another way?). Obviously, I do not want him to use my internet connection (WAN) whatsoever, not even to check his email...
Does know of any way to restrict WAN access while still allowing LAN access to the Plex server?

Bug Report: (Slightly) Improper title sorting
I was looking through my movie list, and noticed a slightly improper title sorting problem. Under english title sorting rules, a leading "A", "An", "The" is ignored. However, plex does not seem to honor this rule. I have a title list that goes like this:

I am on version 3.23.1 running under a docker container on a Plex server.
Just wanted to report this and see if it would get fixed sometime. Or perhaps give us an option to ignore leading articles or not??

Remote access shows green at first but then down but works.........
My remote access will show up when i restart my server or log off and on but after a minute it will show it going down. but it still seems to work remotely........ is this a display bug or do i have something wrong....

Say's playing artist but instead closes and doesn't play
I have the Amazon Echo Dot and was able successfully link it to my Plex server via the skill. It is able to detect my server as well as it's titles. When I tell it to play music on Chrome it will play it on my PC with no issue. But when I ask it to play an artist on the Echo Dot it says it is playing it and then proceeds to do nothing, then I have to reopen Plex and try again.
PMS:Version 1.9.7.4460
I also have Enable local network discovery (GDM) enabled.
Any ideas?

Ubuntu Plex Server Disconnects from Web Apps
I'm currently running Plex on an Ubuntu 17.10 Server, running Plex 1.9.7.4460, on an old desktop with an Intel Core 2 Q6600 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, running my OS and Plex Library on a 128 GB SSD and holding my Plex content on a pair of 2 TB Seagate SATA drives in a RAID 1 config. I had this same issue on another Plex server a few months ago, but that one's been stable after rebuilding the library, but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick here.
Basically, after a few hours this server disconnected from the Plex Web App and is unavailable through my apps (iOS, Apple TV and the Media Player app on MacOS), until I restart the Plex service on the box. I just went through and rebuild the box from scratch. Reinstalled the OS and all the apps needed (Plex, NZBGet, Sonarr, CouchPotato, PlexPy, Webmin) and rebuilt the Plex LIbrary from scratch. Still having the same problem.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Attached are the logs from before doing a service restart to get the box back and connected to the apps.

my plex server does not update
my plex server is on windows 10 it does not update by itself ,how can I do it manualy

remote access indicates not available
My remote access will show up when i restart my server or if i log off then back on ...but after a minute it will change and indicate not accessible.....but it will still seem to work remotely. is this a program glitch in plex or am i missing something or doing something wrong?

AirPlay from Plex on iOS 11 Broken
I updated my iPhone to iOS 11 today, and find that my offline videos in the Plex app can no longer AirPlay to the Apple TV!
Is anyone experiencing the same thing? This wasn’t happening on the Plex app in iOS 10.3.3 two days ago

Gibt es eine Version (Free oder Premium) von der Plex-Server-Software welche offline (unabhängig vom Plex-Online-Account) mit mehreren Plex-Servern innerhalb eines Netzwerks funktioniert?
Wir benutzen bei uns im Archiv zur Zeit eine aktuelle Server-Version von PLEX mit Pass und haben ständig Probleme sobald wir z.B. einen neuen Server hinzufügen oder einen der Server (Laptop) unterwegs offline benutzen wollen.
Dann kann es passieren dass PLEX-Inhalte (Bibliotheken) nicht angezeigt werden bzw. der Server mit/an dem man gerade arbeitet nicht erkannt wird.

Keywords for Photos
All of my photos have keywords embedded in them. I've yet to find the ability to search for photos in a Plex library by keywords. Am I missing something?
