I am having an issue when I cast to my Chromecast that the show is now always starting from the beginning and ignoring the last position? I am running server version 1.5.2.3557 and it does this from the web interface and the iOS app. Any ideas?

I am running plex on the Amazon Fire and I keep getting this error "Plex is unable to start due to error". I reinstalled the app and it worked until I closed the app. When I went to open the app, I got the error again.

34mn freezing sorted but another issue now
Hi guys,
Like almost everyone I was having the 34mn issue, my Chromecast updated to 1.25.90308 and now I've got a new issue.
Now the OSD is appearing during movies, the playing timer looks like stuck for 10/30s and the screen is flickering sometimes with a black screen (usually just after the OSD is popping up). The media is not hanging but it's still quite annoying.
When the OSD is on and stuck I lose the control of the stream... can't stop or pause.
This issue is not on every media... didn't found the pattern yet (might be related to multi or AC3).
I've checked on my last movie and I was on direct play (not sure for the other media I've listed... but I think it was).
Medias with this this issue:
- movie (1080p x264 hdlight mutli AC3 5.1/French AC3 5.1/English)
- movie (1080p x264 hdlight multi AC3 5.1/French AC3 5.1/English)
- manga (dvdrip x264 multi AC3/French AC3/****)
- serie (1080p x264 multi AC3 stereo/French AC3 stereo/unknow)
My details:
- Chromecast 2
- PMS on Core i7 / 16Go ram
- OS: Ubuntu 16.04.2 x64
- PMS is updated with plexupdate so i'm using the latest version (1.7.3.3937)
- Chromecast connected on 2.4Ghz (even if my router handle 5Ghz)
- PMS and Chromecast on the same network
What I've tried (and not working):
- reset Chromecast
- change WiFi band (2.4 or 5)
- PMS secure stream or unsecure

Most mornings my plex has crashed
Often, after the house cleaning chores the plex does and the morning, my plex server is offline. If I look at the server computer it often shows that "Server settings are offline" and I have to quit and restart the server. I do have logs. Not sure what could be causing this?

Native Plex App on LG WebOS TV (55LB6500) Limited Functionality
Hi all,
It's been a while since I've been here so be kind.
I have a fully patched TV, Plex server install on QNAP x64 NAS. Since moving to PLEX, everything has been working well, in the beginning there was no native PLEX app and I started using Playz app. Playz works well and allows scanning through playback via point in time selection via the video timeline which is an essential feature. The one feature it doesn't have is the ability to continue playback across a split video e.g. cd 1 & cd 2.
At one point I had a plex pass to get access to the native Plex app. The Plex app presents much better than Playz and even plays across split files, bonus. But, I can only skip forward in time in chunks, there is no 'fast forward' or point in time along a timeline.
The Plex app hasn't had an update for a very long time and I was wondering why? Why hasn't basic functionality been introduced into the WebOS app? In all honesty, this is one reason why I didn't continue on with the plex pass, sure, there is a lot of new functionality, but surely basic functionality on all supported platforms is also a dev stream.
Can anyone offer some thoughts or words of wisdom?

Optimized Version File Names
Hi there,
I apologize if this question has already been asked. I attempted to search for an existing forum entry but did not find a similar question, possibly due to an inadequate search configuration.
So, as seen in the "Naming 'Series' & Seasons' Based TV Shows" of the Plex Guides, it instructs to use the following naming convention: "TV Shows/ShowName/Season XX/ShowName - sXXeYY - Optional_Info.ext".
However, when using the Optimize functionality of the Plex Server, the resulting file names of the optimized versions of shows drops the "ShowName" value and capitalizes the Seasons abbreviation and Episode abbreviation. (e.g., changes from "ShowName - sXXeYY" to "SXXEYY")
Is this the intended functionality and why does the Optimize feature of Plex Server not follow the naming convention specified by the User Guide?

Cannot get some Flac files to play, (skips over tracks)
Server version: 1.7.5.4035 on Windows 7 Ultimate
Web Version: Version 3.10.0 (Firefox 54.0.1)
App Version: Plex for Android version 6.1.1.656 my Huawei Nexus 6p running android N
New Plex user here, and after searching online for a few days, I still cannot find the solution to my issues. I'm in the process of ripping my CD collection to Flac using Exact Audio Copy and I noticed some playback issues. When playing mp3's using the android app and web portal, all songs direct play just fine. But when I play my Flac files, only some albums and songs are able to be played. All of my Flac files are ripped with the same settings and are all tagged and named properly using Plex's own suggested structure. They are also playable on VLC locally and show no errors.
The issue with some songs on Firefox are that say direct play on the "Now Playing" Tab but they say error above it. The song shows but the progress bar does not move and only stays on 0:00 and then it just skips to the next track after one second and the same problem persists until the album has skipped over its last track.
On Android, the songs DO play but the progress bar does not allow scrubbing and does not allow 10 second rewind or fast forward.
But for some reason, some other flac files work correctly on all platforms even though they were ripped exactly the same way.

Latest 1.7.5 no longer shows on Onkyo 609
After 1.1.4 update my Plex showed but stopped playing all media on my Onkyo 609. Now after 1.7.5 my Onkyo doesn't even show Plex within DLNA.
From what others are saying here and my personal experience I think Plex is abandoning DLNA support.

Plex Media Server Version 1.7.3.3937 - no transcoding possible anymore
Hi Guys,
I installed the new Windows Plex Media Server Version 1.7.3.3937 today. Since that I can't play any movies which need to be transcoded. They permanently crash before they start to play (Error Message: Can't find codec for transcode / can't transcode).
Please fix that. I had to go back to Version 1.7.2.3878. Everything is working fine with 1.7.2.3878.

Unable to Register iPad for Plex Beta
I've previously used and downloaded the iOS betas without issue. At some point, I must have reset my iPad. I'm now running iOS 11 beta and trying to get the most recent build of Plex via my buddybuild link. It attempts to grab the configuration profile and fails alternatively with an SCEP error or a network error. I've tried both my wifi and the cell connection and even reset the iPad in DFU mode. Is this happening for anyone else or is this an issue specific to my iPad? Any ideas on what to try? I do have configuration profiles installed from Meraki and from my own Apple Developer account without issue.

Conversion failed.The transcoder crashed or failed to start up
Windows 10 with Plex Media Server Version 1.7.5.4035. Setup has been working fine until the latest update. Not sure the update actually worked. But if I try to watch any movie file type except .mp4 I get that error. Or this one - "Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.' I am watching on the PC that is the actual server. It also fails if I watch through the Plex Windows app or on my iPhone.

BUG: Synced music content doesn't remember track progress
I have music synced from a music library which has "Store track progress" enabled. Synced music does not remember track progress. E.g., I pause music. Later I go back to plex, and through usage of other apps plex has been flushed from memory. On reload and playing the track I was playing previously the position is not remembered and the track starts playing from the start.
as of today, latest iOS and Windows Server versions installed.
I've labelled this as a bug as it's unclear when it is by design, or not functioning as intended. As an end user it doesn't work as I expect it to.

someone can help me? I manually enabled port 32400 on my videotron router, I also checked the box to edit the port manually on plex server, but the server remains offline.

WD NAS http://192.168.1.10:32400/web 192.168.1.10 refused to connect.
Currently trying to install the latest Plex DVR version on my WD NAS PR4100. I uninstalled the previous version and deleted the old bin file which was working fine then I installed the latest version and now I get an error when I hit configure even though it says it installed all ok.
The error is
192.168.1.10 refused to connect.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
I've reset the NAS I've reset the Router, I replaced the router with a new router, I've uninstalled the Firewall I switched just about every setting in the router and the WD NAS and am now at a total loss. Thought I would try here for I totally give up and cancel my Plex membership.
Any Help desperately appreciated, I love plex and don't want it to end like this!

No Audio Since Latest Version Upgrade
Since installing the latest version, I am unable to get the audio tracks when watching videos.

Now playing notification stuck
Hello,
When casting to my chromecast audio, I do often get a stuck now playing notification. The plex application disconnect from the chromecast device, but the notification remain. The only way to get rid of it is to force close the plex app.

Can't update to latest version
my Plex server on my windows 10 pc crashed. I got a 404 can't find website error. I tried downloading and installing from the website and despite turning off my virus scanner and windows defender I keep getting the error that I don't have permissions to the Tuner subfolder. I'm using the user id I originally installed plex with. I've attached the log.

I'm having this consistent error on Windows 10 Pro, with PMP (PMS running on the same NUC machine)
A few minutes after pausing a running video i will get treated by the error message
