Hey guys,

I'm streaming Twilight Zone from a windows PC to my Playstation 4, but the audio isnt coming across. It works when I play through plex on the computer. While playing the episodes, the settings state the audio is Unknown (MP3 mono)
It's the first time this has happened and I've been using plex for about a year now.

Anyway I can fix this?

The latest update for Plex web interface in Chrome has left my interface so tiny as to be unreadable.

I have a silly high resolution 3200x1800 on my xps13 laptop which I'd rather not change. Plex used to detect this and produce a reasonably sized interface but after I updated manually a few days ago the interface is super tiny. I tried to go through the settings (though it is a little hard because of the interface size) but I didn't see anything that would fix this.

Hey there,

Some of you may have followed the recent development on the original Subliminal.bundle by @bramwalet.

I've made some serious changes, improvements and bugfixes to Subliminal.bundle during the last few weeks, with the help of some very nice people such as @PMAdmin, @chopeta, @BlueToxic and others.

As the direction of this project has moved a long way, I thought it was time to evolve from simply being a personal fork of Subliminal.bundle to something more dedicated.

Plugin Description

Sub-Zero aims to solve your subtitle problems by automatically downloading the hopefully best subtitles there are, for your individual video file.

Subtitles are a problem? Yep, they definitely are. I myself use this plugin on a daily basis as my wife has a serious hearing condition where subtitles help us to be able to watch our favourite TV series and movies together. Subtitles pose a generic struggle: matching your media file perfectly. This is as hard as it gets. Thankfully there are a bunch of libraries and services out there, that help with that.

Sub-Zero is far from being perfect, but with recent development and planned features, we're really getting there.

Its core is based on the works of Diaoul, who created the subliminal library, as well as enzyme, to parse MKV metadata. In addition to that Sub-Zero uses the extremely well-made guessit library made by wackou.

Sub-Zero still is under heavy development but has recently reached a stable state. I need you to report bugs and tell me your opinion on new features.

Manual Installation

• go to Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins/
• remove old versions (rm -r Sub-Zero.bundle)
• get the current version from here
• unpack it
• restart your plex media server!

Usage

• go to Settings -> Server -> Agents -> Movies/TV Shows
• select the metadata provider you use on your library, e.g.: Freebase (movies) or TheTVDB (series)
• enable Sub-Zero Subtitles (TV/Movies)
• configure them
• refresh your library (or individual movies/TV shows)

Use the following agent order:

1. Sub-Zero Subtitles (TV/Movies)
2. Local Media Assets (TV/Movies)
3. anything else

I'm trying to add my plex server on a synology NAS to my plex pass account. I'm only getting a errormessage in the web ui and my the console is getting some weird 406 errors, see picture

I'm also attaching the log file for the media server.

I am running a plex server on freeNAS 9.10. After setting up my hdhomerun prime I choose a program to record. It shows in the recording schedule but will not start recording. There are no error messages. I decided to setup a plex server on my windows machine. Everything works fine on it... any clue what could be going on?

I've been looking for a while, and while I can find countless instructions on how to apply custom icons in Plex for Libraries (TV, Movies, etc.), none of them have instructions on how to apply for Genres. I only have two libraries, TV Shows, and Movies. However, within movies, there is a section called "By Genre" with items like "Animation" and "Drama", but they all have the same generic icon. I can only tell the difference by scrolling through each one, and reading the text that appears underneath the selected one. Does anyone know how to to customize these icons?

Note that any instructions that mention modifying the "library_sections" within "com.plexapp.plugins.library.db" won't work, as I only have only two libraries in there. Thanks for the help.

I just upgraded my HTPC to Windows 10. I leave Plex Media Player running and suspend the system via the remote when not in use. When it resumes, Plex is already up. This worked fine in Windows 7. It seems now in Windows 10 when the system resumes Plex is either minimized or visible but the remote and keyboard don't work to navigate. I have to press Alt-Tab on the keyboard once to give PMP focus and then I can navigate with the remote and keyboard. Has anyone else had this trouble and know how to resolve it? It's quite annoying! Thanks!

The latest version (1.7.5.4035), and the previous version (1.7.3.3937), have been crashing randomly for me.

Which logs are needed to assist in diagnosing the issue?

My files are called:

I have tried restarting the server and refreshing the library countless times but it's not working. I have this issue with another movie too that has embedded subtitles and doesn't detect my extra subtitles file.

Up until about a week ago almost all of my videos played via direct play or direct stream, but now a significant percentage of videos are requiring full transcoding. Has anything changed with the Plex client or server? I think this started with Plex client 1.8 (I'm on the beta) or around around the time of the previous PMS beta release (not 1.5.1.3520, the one before that)

The Plex status page show that it's transcoding from h264->h264 and audio is whatever to AC3 (or EAC3 with 1.5.1).

What has changed? Can I reverse it? My NAS isn't powerful enough to transcode these videos and I don't see any clues in the tvOS.xml profile file.

Often, after the house cleaning chores the plex does and the morning, my plex server is offline. If I look at the server computer it often shows that "Server settings are offline" and I have to quit and restart the server. I do have logs. Not sure what could be causing this?

All of a sudden I have started to get the following message when playing media to any of my Roku 3600X devices

"Not enough bandwidth for any playback of this item. Cannot convert to below minimum bandwidth of 103kbps. Neither direct play nor conversion is available."

I have more than enough bandwidth available (local network is fast, internet is ~100Mb download / ~10Mb upload). I've NEVER played with the bandwidth settings before now. But have gone in and set maximums well above what is required and still see the bandwidth issues. Please note that I was able to play the same media files flawlessly a week or so ago.

I have updated to the latest server software (plexmediaserver-1.7.5.4035-313f93718.x86_64). I enabled verbose logging and have captured the relevant logs. Any suggestions? This is really putting a cramp in my media consumption habit

I noticed many movies now receive a 2 letters country tag which is quiet frustrating when you don't know the code for obscure countries like Cameroon, Chile or whaterver. I'd much prefer having the full country name there. Is there a way to change that?

I am using a QNAP NAS with Plex installed. I have a good internet connection 300mbps down/ 100bps up. Modem in Bridge mode connected to my Router. Fixed external IP.

What I can do. I can play downloaded movies/TV and Channels on my home server on any device - great.

When away from the house. I can play downloaded movies/TV on my Android mobile device running the Plex app. I can also select 'Channels' and choose content. But when I tap play after a few seconds I get a message "Error Playback has stopped because the connection to the Plex Media server has been lost .......etc..... is available and retry"

So a question. Should playing Plex Channels when away my home server be possible ? If so, I would appreciate some hints.

Since one of the recent updates I'm unable to play anything from my Samsung Smart TV via the Plex App. I keep getting the message that it is unable to connect to the content server.

I have searched the forums for answers and have seen numerous different suggestions. Under Network, the Secured Connections is selected as preferred. The transcoder quality is set to automatic.

I am just a novice user, so I'm struggling to find a solution.

and no: movie and TV are just fine. tested with another TV (same problem) and WDTV media player. definitely the plex app for ps4 that has that problem.

Pour des raisons diverses, j'ai plusieurs serveurs Plex, et de temps en temps il y a les même media sur les deux. Prenons le cas d'un série. Si je regarde l'episode S01E01 sur le serveur A, pourquoi, après la lecture, sur le serveur B l'episode S01E01 est toujours marqué comme "non vu" ?

J'ai essayé de fouiller dans les réglages mais je n'ai rien trouvé qui permettait de synchroniser les "marques" et de mettre en vu un media sur un serveur B sachant qu'il a été lu/vu sur un serveur A.

J'utilise bien sur le même compte ! Donc Plex pourrait savoir que le compte PAUL a vu tel ou tel média et donc des que je me connecte sur un serveur il pourrait savoir si j'ai deja vu ce media ou non ..

Vous avez une idée ou une réponse à ma question ?

I can't use Plex on Xbox One anymore. Everything I try to watch: "Cannot convert this item. No conversion profile found. I really need help. I tried downloading a log but this Imac keeps creating an entire folder.... Everything in my house works, except for Plex. Can someone please help me? I've been paying for over two years for something that I cannot even use... I'm tired of this..
