v1.2.3 Will not exit full screen.

Bit of an odd issue here and only since I updated to 1.2.3 today...

When first I loaded PMP it loaded just like my previous version, windowed on my first monitor. I wanted to change some PMP settings so clicked the TV Full Screen button to get the TV interface with access to all the settings (still annoying these are not exposed in the windowed view). Changed the settings I wanted to, but now when I click the Exit Full Screen button I get the WebUI full screen on my monitor. Still showing the Exit full screen button so I click it again. Flicker but nothing changes except the button changing to Enter TV Full Screen.

I cannot get back to my original windowed view with the ability to move it around the screens wherever I want.

Have I broken something or is everyone else also seeing this?

Windows 10 fully updated (latest updates installed during bootup). AMD Radeon R7 200 graphics card with one monitor connected to DisplayPort and one to HDMI.

Casting from mobile pauses when screen is turned off

Running the latest beta 5.10.0.132 and now when I cast to my Rasplex, if I am on the main episode screen or the season screen of a TV season and the screen sleeps, the casting pauses. If I go back up higher, to the main screen (on deck, new, etc) I can shut off the screen and the stream stays playing. Just started with this latest update.

Vizio 2.4.13 - No Media servers found.

I've got a brand new Vizio 4k TV.  After loading the plex app, it cannot find my plex media server on my LAN.  I've got a 2014 LG WebOS based TV also running 2.4.13 connected to the same access point literally on the other side of the same wall that has no issues finding the server and playing media off of it (server is running 0.9.12.4).  Several amazon fire TV's and a roku as well.  The only one that has an issue is the Vizio.  The Vizio can load content off the same server via DLNA with no issues, so the two can talk to each other without a problem.

 

Remote access is enabled and working properly on my plex media server.  I see from another thread some plex hosted server was rebooted a couple months ago which supposedly fixed the issue for some users.  I'm wondering if it's reared its head again, because this is clearly something going on with Plex and not my side.

Nvidia shield - le pass through vers mon ampli-hdmi ne fonctionne pas

Bonjour,

j'ai mon serveur plex sur un pc en Windows 10, les fichiers sur un Nas et la shield sur mon ampli-Hdmi pour lire les fichier.
Le soucis est: le serveur transcode tous les formats audio vers ma shield, que ce soit DTS, AC3 ou autre.
Si je force en lecture directe, je n'ai pas de son ... je ne comprends pas.
Je confirme que mon ampli lit bien tout ces format sans problème.
J'ai bien configuré comme ça:
Direct Play - Auto
Direct Stream - Enabled
Passthrough - Enabled

Mais rien n'y fais, il transcode l'audio tout le temps.
Avez-vous une idée, svp ?

I know this sounds weird, but maybe you can help me anyway:
I run the most recent Plex version (1.5.3.3580-4b377d295) available for my Synology NAS with DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 2. This week, I purchased a Plex pass and I think since then, I'm not able to stream TV series to my TV anymore. When I hit play, the TV app enters full-screen and display the navigation controls in the bottom half of the screen but the screen itself remains blank. So I thought, I give the "optimize" feature a try. TV shows I've added before purchasing the pass are being optimized correctly. All recent episodes added after the purchase can't be optimized and I get the error "Invalid Metadata" (as attached): Image may be NSFW.

In the main menu, I already tried Libraries > Clean Bundles, Empty Trash and Optimize Database. I already restarted my NAS and Plex server application.

What I think is strange is the fact that "old" episodes are displayed and streamed correctly. So I created a new TV shows library and pointed the library-directory directly to one show's folder. Now trying to stream from that new library with old episodes, none can be played. But the same episodes can be streamed in from the other library where they have been imported before I purchased the pass.
The file-endings are either .mp4 or .mkv, both don't work anymore. The files are organized flat as /[Show Name]/Show.S12E20...mp4 or /[Show Name]/Show.S12E21...mkv (however, as said, previously that wasn't an issue as covers, seasons and episodes are displayed correctly).

Could you please help me resolve this issue? I assume you eagerly await some log-files. Which ones should I upload and where do I get them from? Could it be an issue with Agents?

For the new library, I picked "TheTVDB" and in Settings > Server > Agents > Shows > TheTVDB I ticked "TheTVDB", "Plex Theme Music" and "The Movie Database".

TVDB Metadata not loading

Hi,

Anyone had an issue over the past couple of days whereby the metadata for TV shows isn't being pulled through. Status shows that it's refreshing metadata and then says finished, but not pulling any information.

Seems to be affecting Supernatural, Lip Sync Battle, and Criminal Minds at the minute

Any ideas?

I've checked and TVDB is up and the metadata is there

Hi,

The server has been playing up and I have tried reinstalling it a few times. But having no joy.

I get this message each time.

A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.

I tried to attach the log file as requested, but it seems it is too large for the forum even zipped.

It is on a QNAP TS651 running 4.3.3.0188. I have tried installing Plex media Server 1.6.1.3722 64Bit.

Help.

Force public IP behind dual Internet connection

Hello everyone,

I have 2 Internet connections from 2 different ISPs with 2 real IPs. As you can imagine, the primary is the fast and the secondary a slower that serves as backup. All under a Cisco RV320 router working in load balance mode giving 70% priority to the fast ISP. Opening a port for Plex, opens in both IPs. I add the preferred IP to Settings/Server/Network/Custom server access URLs as http://200.100.200.100 (example). After reboot I see on Remote Access that IP as Public one. However, at some random point the IP change to the one for the slower connection.

The only way I find to force Plex use the fast IP is be reboot the server (Debian). This is quite annoying. Is there an other better way?

Problem with App after update to version 2.008 (subtitles & theme music, translation)

Hello,
I use the Plex App (2.008) on my Samsung Tv (UE50JU6900). Got the update recently. With 2.005 all was working well.
Steps which i tryed to fix the problems: Factoryreset TV, reinstalled plex.

First problem
If I enable the theme music (its set on by default) for tv series my soundbar always reduces the sound level by 2 steps when it starts theme music.
Got if fixed by myself: preferences -> Sound/subtitles "theme Volume" was set to 50% by default. If i set it to 100% this bug does no longer appear.

I think this is not working as intended?

2nd problem
Subtitles are totally bugged.

  • As default set "use Tv-API" is selected in the options. With this option nothing appears (I also looked in my Tvs settings but no chance)
  • with the "transcode after" the complete app crashed or was loading to death

  • with "transcode before" selected it works (but also seems a bit broken) - I need to press the options Button during the video playback and have to choose "enable embedded subtitles" (the greyed out dot in the pic) for every movie again (it also not working with saving the settings in the playback options), if I dont do i also cant see subtitles.

  • the german translation has a unreadable text overlapping in the subtitle options (see screenshot)

  • the app shows in the options "audio language" as unknown (mb this is causing the subtitle bugs?).

Any chanced to get this all fixed? Image may be NSFW.

Video Quality PMP - OSX

So after getting an answer to how to full "tv-fullscreen" Plex media player, I go to watch video, and it looks lie crap. Checked settings, says its playing in original format. So went on to my PC loaded PHT and it looks so much better, like it did on PHT on my Mac. Is there something I missed? or is PMP just a crappier program? It used to look like wa watching 720p video, cuz i was, now it looks like 480p which it shouldn't. From server to player everything is set to play original quality. Is there something i'm missing? I don't get it... so far really disappointed that I can no longer use PHT, feels like a massive step backwards. May just use a net drive and vlc if this is what it's going to be like.

IT would also be awesome if they could use a layout that was more functional like PHT, rather then tons of varying sizes of images and less content. Less ability to easily show what you want, less of everything really. very disappointed in plex with these changes.

Se me desconfigura todo el tiempo!!!

Buenas noches, os comento. Descubrí Plex hace unas semanas y me encantó, sin embargo hay muchas dudas que tengo y que me agobian, porque me hacen perder tiempo y trabajo. Estoy harto de buscar una respuesta pero no la encuentro:
1. ¿Qué diferencia existe entre Personal Media Shows y Local Media Assets?
2. No comprendo por qué supuestamente teniendo como preferencia mi información a la metadata que busca el agente de TVDB, cuando actualizo la biblioteca, mucha de la información que yo he agregado se sustituye por la de TVDB.
3. Esto ya me ha pasado algunas veces. Al ver mi biblioteca en una Smart TV, de un día para otro, sin toquetear nada, desaparecen todas las miniaturas de varias series así porque sí. Sin embargo, en el Plex del ordenador sí que aparecen.
4. Lo mismo con los temas musicales de algunas series, así porque sí alguno que otro ha desaparecido por las buenas.

Todo esto hace que le tenga bastante miedo dar al botón de actualizar biblioteca cuando añado algún archivo nuevo, porque me juego que todo se me vaya al garete...

iphone and Chromecast problem

Hi, I have a small problem when I try to change the quality over my phone connected to my Chromecast. This start after the last update. Like you can see on the screenshot, I can't change the quality. But if I use my Android phone, everything is ok. I can changed the quality like I want. Any idea why or if i'm alone with this problem.

Plex Android Sync - Storage not freeing up after deleting sync.

Hi everyone,

I have some issues with sync. I sync a number of libraries/playlists to my android phone, plus I sync my entire music library (about 100GB) so I can listen when there is no internet on my phone.

With the new update for Android, I decided to delete the Music sync, and resync with the newly available "Original Quality" setting (rather than 320kbps). There are now 2 issues with this:

1: (minor) - I noticed that in the web ui, under activity --> sync, there is no option to sync Music at Original quality, and in fact it says it is syncing at 192Kbps. I think this is a cosmetic issue though, as I noticed that most sync items were not being sent for conversion (except for some m4a files).

2: (major, for me) - when I deleted the old Music sync, I expected to see space being freed up. But somehow it's cached, and not re-usable. I have restarted server, restarted app, still same issue. I even went as far as "delete all sync'd content" (which was a faff, since I didn't want to resync my other libraries again), that just made the problem worse - more space not being freed up.

Finally the solution is to uninstall plex from Android, and re-install. I don't want to keep doing this every time I manually delete a sync item.

Does anyone have an alternative solution here? Is there an open feature request to "clear cache" that's in the pipeline? If not - how to I raise it?

Sony Bravia 75W850C - anyone have multi-channel sound working?

Been quite a while with many updates to the Android app but still stereo only via optical. Has anyone gotten multi-channel sound working with this TV lineup?

The closest I have is the Plex app in Kodi but I recently noticed that TrueHD 7.1 is not working. It, too, outputs stereo only but I don't know if it was working before my TV firmware was updated to Android Marshmallow and is now broken (?).

Anyway, has anyone figured out how to get passthrough working? I have seen posts with modified Android.xml profiles, various sound settings on the tv, Plex for Kodi sound settings, etc.?

The closest I have is using PCM on the TV sound settings combined with the Plex add-in in Kodi, and the IEC device in the Kodi settings. Is this the only way? If so, does TrueHD work in Kodi or did this break with Android MM?

I'm not sure if I should be pissed at Plex or Sony, or maybe both, but I'm at my wits end with this crap. If someone has found the secret, please list what settings (tv sound as well as app settings) you have working as it would be very much appreciated.

Access to local server not possible after adding second user

Hi,

i became finally a PlexPass Member today.
I am using Plex for quite a while and i am so happy with it that i finally subscribed for a Lifetime Subscription.

I am running the Server on a CentOS Linux Server
Access was configured to be without Authorization for local hosts.
My Plex Server is connected to my Plex account.

After I added a second user and set the Plex App pin i am not able to login anymore locally to configure my server.
I still can access via browser outside of my home the content using my Plex account.

When I try to access my local server using this URL http://localhost:32400/web/index.html#!/dashboard I am prompted to login with my PlexAccount.

Once I enter my details i get the following message:
- The username or password is incorrect. Repeated attempts may temporarily disable sign in.

I also tried to access plex.tv from my server directly which results in the same message as above.

But the provided credentials are fine because I can login to plex.tv (as you can see i am writing from my account) if i am not doing it from my server.

I have the feeling that i have a setting in place which prevents me now to access my server (as admin).

I really hope you can help me out...
