This is a strange thing and I can't figure it out and I've had my Sysadmin friend look at it and he doesn't know either. Basically, if I access my Plex media server from a plex app on a remote PC or the iPad or whatever... it works great for 10 minutes or so and then my network seems to go down. But it's not. I've tested this and what it is doing is blocking the IP address I am accessing from. So it's not Plex doing it but I am guessing that the firewall on the router is maybe thinking it is some sort of attack or intrusion and is blocking me. It's blocking only the IP that I am accessing from. We've tested other IPs and they can access the network just fine while I am blocked on the original IP. After 5 minutes or so it let's go of the block and let's me back on. I've looked at the security logs on the firewall and there are no entries at all for when I get blocked. It has to be at the router because my entire network is unavailable to me during that time, not just the plex server. Or maybe it's at the ISP itself. It was Verizon which then sold me off to Frontier (dangit). Anyone else ever run into this? Any clues at all? It sort of defeats the purpose of having a media server that is accessible remotely if it blocks me when I try to use it. Thanks for listening and for any thoughts.
