I have a few questions about using Plex for Roku with my receiver. I have a couple Roku sticks and Roku 3's.
1. Is it possible to have the Roku Plex player pass-through FLAC directly to my receiver? The FLAC files are 16bit 44.1khz. When I play them now, they are being re-sampled to 48khz. The receiver can natively play FLAC, and does so directly from the plex server.
----If not, is it possible to modify the profile for my Roku 3 on the Plex server to have it transcode FLAC to ALAC and then have the Roku pass the ALAC stream to the receiver? I'm trying to play my FLAC files with my Roku 3 in a lossless format on my receiver.
2. Any chance to send 5.1 FLAC audio streams to the receiver from the Roku 3 with the Plex app? If not, maybe have the plex server convert the 5.1 FLAC to ALAC and then send to receiver?
3. Are there any media players with a Plex App that can do this type of thing? Perhaps the Roku 4 with the TosLink out? Or am I stuck setting up a computer with Plex Home Theater?
