I'm a long term Plex user and Pass Member. As well as the recent transcoding issue I mentioned recently I am also seeing a general instability with AirPlay that I didn't used to. I have converted all my files so that Direct Streaming happens using Handbrake, however "sometimes" the files will through up an error when I try to AirPlay them. And it really is just sometimes. I am using an Intel Synology NAS, multiple iOS devices and multiple ATV3s.
My work-around is to go to another app like BBC iPlayer, send something quickly to the AppleTV, then switch back to Plex and it will then play the original media that gave me the error, which then works. All very frustrating.
We have mutliple iOS deveices streaming to multiple ATV3. It seems to get confused if we have something playing on a ATV3 then another iOS device airplays something to the same ATV3 without the first one stopping. Other AirPlay apps seem to handle this fine, by stopping the first and starting the most recent media sent. I don't think this is the only situation that it breaks, but it's the one I can most easily describe.
Is anyone else seeing this type of behaviour? Airplay seems to work very reliably from other iOS applications, the problem is that none are as good as Plex (when it works). Are there ways to submit logfiles etc.
