I just bought a Synology DS216play and using a 3 tb western digital red harddrive.
Im using dsm version 6.0.1-7393
Im using Plex media server version 0.9.15.6.1993-5089475
I have about 14 movies and 2 series on plex. whether i use my iphone or macbook to stream to my chromecast or if i stream directly from my phillips pus7909 tv, it transcodes some of my movies.
When i play the movie frozen which is mp4 720p, with aac 2.0 sound it seem to work fine, it does not transcode. However when i play an episode of person of interest, which also is mp4 720p with aac 2.0 sound, it starts transcoding. I dont know what to do??
I have attached a couple of images to show you that it files should be the exact same.
