TV show and Movie posters not downloading - RaspberryPi 3

Hello Folks,
Let me start off by saying I'm completely new to linux and this is my first time posting on any forum, but I seem to be facing an issue that I haven't been able to resolve by searching around. My apologies if the post is a little lengthy but I want to give as much information as I can upfront so

I bought a Raspberry Pi 3 a couple of days ago (30th Sep) and decided to set it up as a Plex Media Server. With a bit of struggle and a lot of youtube I was able to set up the PMS on the Pi and it's now working. I am able to stream content to my devices at home no issues.

The trouble I'm having is that the posters aren't downloading for any of the Movies or Shows. All the text metadata shows up just fine, just no posters.

Since this issue is for every item in my library I decided to test with a smaller library with just 1 movie and 1 TV show.

I've tried the following basic things but none have worked so far:
1. Deleted and rebuilt the library multiple times
2. Run force Refresh on individual items
3. Run force refresh on each library.
4. Tried reordering the Agents (though i'm not really sure how they work, i basically just moved the "Local Media" to the end in each list and checked the other boxes)
5. Tried restarting the PMS service.
6. Tried a manual match. I unmatched the file, and explicitly rematched the file manually. It matched, but again no posters.
7. I'd given my Pi 3 a static IP on my Router, I disabled that (though the Pi is still fixed to that IP. I read that it's needed to facilitate SSH and it was done via editing the cmdline.txt file)

My content is on a external hard drive connected to the Pi. I did read in a forum to mount the drive to a specific location and to add the entry to the fstab file to aid with discovery, which i had done initially, however on reboot the Pi would fail to boot properly, removing the fstab entry fixed that so i've left it out.

Just to check if it was problem with the media I loaded the same files on my other PMS on my Mac. I did notice that my PMS was on an older version and to rule out version issues I updated the PMS on my Mac before the test. Everything loaded up just fine including the posters so its definitely something on the Pi 3.

An additional thing probably worth mentioning is that in one of the instruction it suggested running plea as pi user to help with permissions. I changed that and and also changed the owner using "sudo chown -R pi:pi /var/lib/plexmediaserver"

Once again apologies for the lengthy post but this basically covers where I am and what I've tried.
I really hope someone can help me out or point me in the right direction as I really want the posters to load up and I want to move my PMS to the Pi in order to free up space on the Mac.

Thanks for your help

Chetan
