Before I get angry reactions I should point out I love plex and the idea of plex cloud is brilliant.
Here's my issue, I have a htpc that is of need of some upgrades, I could easily do it right now but I think to myself - why do that when I could jack in the hardware side to plex cloud and host it all there, that way I don't need upgrade.
Plex cloud was brought out with what is effectively a parade - emails out to members, pages on the website dedicated to how brilliant it will be and a sign up section that asks you half a dozen questions then promises you will get an invite at some point but to 'sit tight'. You ask staff and their twitter account how long it'll be or what the time frames are for invites and all you get it 'its a small selection of people who are doing it while it's being tested'.
I assume staff are getting fed up with being asked all the time, but I say that if it is that unready, that unstable (as I have read) or that small a group of people then they shouldn't have shouted from the roof tops about what it is or all the flashy images, web pages about Plex Cloud. They should have selected a small group of people, tested it behind the scenes and then when everything was ready, released it.
Again, I love Plex. This just feels like announcements were made far too early and is causing disappointments.
