PROBLEM: Since updating to the most recent version of Plex, Remote Access has been completely unreliable. I am constantly seeing the red exclamation point saying my server is "Not available outside your network". In the past week or so, I have, on occasion, been able to solve the problem by just simply manually toggling the disable/enable remote access button. However, this morning, even after a complete restart of the server and the NAS computer, it will go "green" for a fraction of a second and then go back to "unavailable" almost immediately. I test with my Android phone via the data connection (not my LAN) and it says that "indirect" connection is all that is available. This is crazy and I've been unable to find a recent discussion or solution on this matter. The only thing I haven't done is reinstall PLEX...which is what I may try next. Another note...I just noticed that a friend of mine just started streaming a TV show on my PMS via their ROKU player. Somehow, apparently, folks are still able to connect outside my network even though "Direct Connection" has crapped out (at least that's what it's showing). The server streams flawlessly across my LAN...Remote access seems to be my ONLY issue.
DETAILS: I am running an EXTREMELY capable NAS server computer system... Intel i7 processor and 32 GB of RAM. Running the server on the manually designated port of 32400. Have triple checked my router and port settings and they are perfectly set. Have restarted the server system and then the PMS a couple times manually as well. Have power cycled my modem/router. Don't think it would be the port itself (32400) as that is the port I've used on this PMS for 3 years now with no issues. Don't want to uninstall PLEX as my library is way too large for that. Have completely disabled all software firewalls and anti-virus on the server system and still no success.
PLEASE HELP! Thank you!!
