I am running Windows 10 Pro with Plex Media Server 1.7.1.3856.
I have a library with two folders - one that is intended for the media files and one for the Plex Optimized files. The Optimized files are then uploaded via OneDrive to my Plex Cloud server. In general, this works well and the files in the optimized folder are named as one would expect (e.g. \OneDrive\Plex Cloud\TV (Optimized)\Plex Versions\Optimized for TV\{SeriesName}\{SnnEnn}.mp4
). Having just used this properly for the first time whilst on holiday, the Plex Cloud system really worked well for me, and let me get automatic episode updates from my home server sent to my Plex Cloud server really easily.
My problem is that I have found that the Optimized files are sometimes mis-matched by the local Plex server.
The two I have noticed are Arrow S05E10 and Midsomer Murders S02E01, which both mis-match to We Bare Bears. Others may exist, but We Bare Bears only has three seasons so it stood out as weird to suddenly have a Season 5!
I tried to Split Apart the "We Bare Bears" series, and it split the two series - one that was We Bare Bears as expected, and one that contained the two mis-matched files. I can't fix the incorrect match as they come from two different series, and the series won't split again. As a simple solution, I watched the episodes and deleted the files from OneDrive.
Obviously this isn't intended to happen. Any idea on how it could have happened, and what I can do to stop it in the future?
On a related note, the way Optimized files are presented in the Web UI is not great. At the moment, they just show up as a second video file for an episode, which looks messy as duplicate episode files are usually a result of a mistake - for example getting a 720p and 1080p version of the same episode. It would be nicer to hide the Optimized versions of the file from the duplicate file list. ideally showing them as "Optimized" rather than just as a second video file.
