HI all,
Plex app on Samsung TV cannot play files that were ripped from BluRays (mostly MKV but have also tested with MP4). Files ripped from DVDs work fine. I had this same problem on OpenPHT last year, but switched to PMP (which did not have this issue) so I never resolved it. I think it is likely a file system error as most support threads I have uncovered seem to be related to that, but none of the suggested fixes have corrected this. I have tried converting the files to .mp4 as well as using Orca's MKV Fix tool, neither of which have corrected the problem.
Plex app version: 2.007
TV model UN55HU7200
PMS version 1.5.5.3634 (also tested on the just-released v1.7.1.3856)
PMS OS Ubuntu 16.04.2
In the attached log you will see, in chronological order, a successful attempt to stream Ghost in the Shell (DVD), followed by two unsuccessful attempts to stream Watchmen (BluRay). Then from Plex Media Player I successfully stream both files.
Thanks in advance for any leads.
EDIT: In case it helps, I found the following in the logs near the attempt to play Watchmen:
ERROR - Streaming Resource: Cannot make a decision because either the file is unplayable or the client provided bad data
DEBUG - Streaming Resource: Reached Decision id=179439 codes=(General=2000,Neither direct play nor conversion is available. Direct Play=3000,App cannot direct play this item. I also found this directly before it, but I don't think it's relevant:
