My movies are from DVD (Europe 2) and Blu-Rays - ripped wih MakeMkv (nothing chaged to standard) to keep the Quality of the movies.
Since Shield PMS started, and now with the latest update, the Problem still remains that when the DVD ripps are beeing transcoded (MPEG2+AC3+VOBSub) the Picture is 4:3 (black bars right and left) and not as the movie should be in 16:9. There must be a Problem with anamorphic material on the Transcoder of the Shield because with my OSX PMS everything works fine on the same Shield Client. Further do PGS of Bluerays (h264+AC3,DTS+PGS) not appear when activated. Not when transcoding, not when direct played. With the OSX PMS everything works.
This must be a bug in the Shields PMS because when i do a Optimzed Version of each - and run them on the Shield PMS the Picture is 16:9 and Subs appear (because they are burned in). But i dont want to convert all my MKV´s - 500 - that would even on the iMac take forever.
This is with every DVD and Blu-Ray.
This has got to be fixed.
This Problem with DVD´s reminds me on my QNAP Nas - when i used Qnaps hardwaretranscoding it is the same - Picture is 4:3 instead of 16:9.
