Starting today I have had an issue where every single Roku associated with my Plex server started failing to play videos (movies or TV shows) with the following error:
"Video Unavailable. We're unable to play this video, make sure the server is running and has access to this video"
They all log in fine, you can select the person to login as, select a movie or tv show and then click play. It goes to 33% and then times out after about 10 seconds with the above message.
All other devices work (Samsung Smart TV, Vizio Smart TV, Samsung S7 phones, iPads, iPhones, Xboxs, XBox Ones, Chrome, Amazon Fire Box).
I tried everything from power cycling, resetting all network settings (thinking initially it was a 5Ghz wireless issue at my house), unlinking and relinking the plex app to the server, etc. Eventually I did a factory reset on my son's Roku 3 and it worked!! So the next Roku (a 4 in our livingroom) I just uninstalled the Plex app, went back to Roku.com and readded the Plex channel and relinked it to the server and it worked like a champ.
So I have spent the last couple of hours talking my friends through removing the app and reinstalling it. In every single case so far, this has corrected the problem.
These devices are on various different networks with none of them local to the server itself which sits at an offsite location.
Also, It was EVERY SINGLE Roku associated with my plex server, not just one or two of them. Whatever happened rendered every Roku unusable without a reload of the Plex client software on each device.
I am not sure what happened, but figured I would throw this out there for anyone that may have run into the same issue.
My Setup:
Linux Ubuntu 14.04
Server is running Plex, NZBGet, Sonarr - connected to a FreeNAS drive array via 10G connection, No local media files on server
Plex Version is 1.2.6.2975 (Just ran the update last night)
