My research today shows im so far behind in my understanding. A month or so i got an email from PLex saying that i can sign up to be picked to use Amazon Cloud sync and that i would be notified when testing would start. i signed up thinking that this was not even available but as i search forums it looks like people are already using it. So Im thinking about switching. I want to layout my whole setup here in case anyone has had issues. Also i could nto find a cloud sync forum so if im asking in the wrong place ill move it. i apologize in advance.
Currently i host Plex on my computer at home. My files are on a 4 TB network hard drive. I signed up for Amazon's cloud system which THEY SAY is unlimited but i have not synced or placed any files there yet.
I access my Plex via Roku in my home and many of my family access it via Roku or Samsung in their homes as ive enabled remote access.
My questions are.
- Has anyone successfully used the Amazon storage and is it truly unlimited?
- Will i need to run my plex locally in order to make it work on the cloud.. will the Plex computer need to always remain on?
- Is there band with issues when using Amazon?
My main goal here is to eliminate bandwidth issues on my end and also not have a dedicated computer that needs to run 24/7 in order to provide plex. I feel like ive lost much time because i thought this was not even available yet.
Thanks
