Last week my tv asked for a firmware update. I accepted it, then all hell broke lose. Steps:
- Plex App wouldnt launch any more, asking for a Samsung account login. After checking the forums, I updated the Plex app. No more Samsung login error, the app starts fine.
- Plex App wouldnt play music any more from my plex music library. It displays the folders and the songs, but doesn't play them - it looks like it starts playing, but doesn't
(I've waited for several minutes)
3. Since the Plex server was also quite old (0.9.16.4.1911), I thought it may require an update, too. I installed 1.1.4.2757-24ffd60. Plex App still won't play music, but now it
doesn't play videos, either. It shows the folders structure and the video icons, but doesnt play anything.
4. I completely deleted the Plex server, including the library. Fresh install of both server and TV App. I've created the libraries again. The video library is created using the "Home videos" template and the "personal videos" plugin - all others are not in use.
I've waited until the server finished indexing everything.
Now the behaviour is changed just a little, meaning that for both music and videos, I see the folder structure and the icons/codec info, but when trying to play I get a "not
found" message on the TV. This happens with any type of audio and video files (tested with several types of mp3, avi, mp4, mkv etc.)
Environment:
TV UE65JS9000, Plex App version 2.006
Linux server (Fedora 20), plex version plexmediaserver-1.1.4.2757-24ffd60.x86_64.rpm
Connection - 1Gbps wired, they're on the same table
The error: Unable to connect to the content server. Request could not be completed. The requested item could not be found".

I'm stuck.
The DLNA server still works well - using Samsung's internal DLNA client, I can play both music and videos without errors.
I can also play both music and videos using the Plex App on my iphone and ipad.
