I'm really hoping someone can help me out with this.
I'm running the Android app on a Jide Remix Mini (which has native support for HEVC/H.265), but no matter what I try Plex always transcodes my HEVC videos when I watch on my Remix Mini. If I force Direct Play then the video plays without transcoding but has no sound. When I play an HEVC/H.265 video directly off my external drive on the Remix Mini then I have no issues.
I know a lot of questions have been asked about HEVC/H.265 playback, but I can't seem to find anything that is helping me with my problem. I recently converted my entire video library to HEVC and bought the Remix Mini specifically because of it's combination of HEVC support and low price. My PC doesn't have any issues transcoding the video, but I'd rather not put it under unnecessary load if that can be avoided ( and the fans get annoyingly loud during transcoding :) ).
