I have several questions regarding sharing folders with friends and family that are connecting to PLEX PMS via plex.tv accounts as well as the connection over the home network.
I am running two (2) PMS servers: one on the home network (accessible to anyone at home on the private home network only) and one on the Internet (accessible to friends and family outside my home.) for obvious reasons, the home network based PMS has more sensitive content than Internet PMS server. The following permissions and security questions are for both scenarios listed above:
How to share specific library folders only with friends and family?
How to share or deny permission to a specific home video file (as oppose to the entire folder) within the folder of the library?
On the home network only, how to make a secret/protected folder (not accessible or visible to others) only available to me (the Administrator) but not to other family members on the same home network?
Parental controls: How to make a folder or in general restrict content that is not suitable for children? PG vs rated R.
How to make a folder password protected or encrypted?
How to remove (delete from library but not from HD disk) a single movie file from the folder that is being shared?
Besides providing links to articles, can you please provide responses in form of examples and in plain English :)
Thanks in advance...
PS. I assume the answers would be the same regardless of platform differences including Windows, Linux, Mac etc?
