Nvidia Shield (Plex Client) Forcing server transcoding of media that doesn't seem to require it.

Hi Plex community.

I've got a few 1080p video files that are being forced into transcoding rather than direct play. (Media information at end of post)

Based on my reading, I suspected either the VC1 Codec, or the frame rate, however there's some things that don't add up.

Out of the box, the default is to transcode this file.

System has:

Direct Streams: enabled.
Direct Play: Auto
audio passthrough enabled
Auto frame rate enabled.

The video and audio play, but forces video transcoding.

If I change Direct Play to FORCED, the video plays fine (??) but the audio does not play.

Other media on the same shield attached to the same receiver with TRUEHD5.1 direct plays fine.

Thoughts?

Clint
