I can't for sure blame the version but I have tested many things and different scenarios. For the longest time everybody could watch my content with no lag or buffering issues and I could handle up to 10 clients no problem. Within the last week everybody is complaining about constant skipping. They read an error that says their connection isn't fast enough but it can't be happening to everybody. I have gone to 2 users house to check their network and all was good but still constant buffering/skipping. This didn't occur on Netflix, Hulu, or YouTube though when watching 1080p HD content. I even tried watching content that was confirmed watched in the past on the same devices with no lag and they are having the same behavior. I know Plex doesn't offer the older versions for download (Though I wish I could test this with 1.0.2 to be sure.)
I haven't seen other reports like this either. I am currently working on a new server and to rule out my computer Plex is running on now, I stood it up and threw some files on there that were confirmed watched in the recent past with no issues. And even on the new server which is quite beefy they were lagging. So I know its not that my computer can't keep up.
I have 2 suspicions either Plex transcoding is fucked in this version or Comcast is literally throttling my Plex traffic only. My speedtests look good but I don't know how I can test/prove Plex traffic being throttled.
Even for myself with I am on WiFi everything is perfect no lag no buffering no nothing. If I go outside the network though like with my phone then I get the same behavior as my other users who are outside the network.
Any insight?
