I'm getting a message when signing on that says "user could not be authenticated" how to proceed

I set up an account yesterday and created two libraries, one for movies and one for music. They all showed up nicely on my plex screen complete with meta data, album art etc.
When signing in today I get the message "user could not be authenticated"
I completed the verification step yesterday thru the email request
