So I understand that with the latest Android update it is possible to cast local videos from an Android device to Chromecast and if required transcode the content at the same time, is there anyway for the Android device to transcode content that is hosted on the Plex server and cast to Chromecast?
My NAS isn't powerful enough to transcode and my content is in MPEG2 format that isn't compatible with Chromecast. But I can play videos natively on the Android device without any transcoding, I'm assuming Android either supports the format natively or does transcoding on the device.
I do have a Raspberry Pi with Kodi/Plex installed, which I have always intended to use, but quite liked the idea of casting as its a similar experience to Netflix/NowTV
