Hello,
I'm opening this discussion to request two features I find highly important:
1) Add the option to constantly run the Plex Apple TV app in the background, as a service/daemon. I'm not familiar with the tvOS architecture, so I'm not sure if this is even possible, but if it is, I would be grateful if this gets implemented, as I find it critical, especially in such scenarios: The Plex app was closed or the ATV has been restarted, and I'm in a different area of my home, looking to play some music. Since the Plex app is closed, I can't fling any media (music specifically) to the Apple TV. I'll have to go physically into the room the ATV resides in, turn the TV on, navigate to the Plex app and open it. It's tedious, and it defeats the headless nature of Plex, one of its nicest traits.
The Apple TV and the Plex app are the cornerstones of my entire media system and the only gateway to my music collection that resides on a 24/7 running server. All other persons and areas of the house get their content through the ATV+Plex combo. My whole media "ecosystem" could be shut down merely by the closing of an app, and this is something very much prone to a human error.
2) Direct play for FLAC, or transcoding to Apple Lossless. My entire music collection is in FLAC, and currently, it's useless. I'm bound to listen to everything in MP3, and it's frustrating. This basically means the vast amount of hours I spent ripping my CD to exceedingly high standards were, as of now, in vain. If FLAC is not utterly impossible, another lossless format like Apple Lossless (which I believe is supported by the ATV) would be great.
Thanks in advance.
