I moved from a Roku Ultra to NVidia Shield and for the most part its a big improvement. However, the one thing that i find terrible on Android TV is the Fast Forward and Rewind capability. On Roku, when you press FFW or RW once, it will skip forward or backward, similar to Android TV. However, if you press FFW or RW twice in succession, it brings up the video scrub bar and begins to fast forward or rewind, showing preview of the video as it goes (and there are different speeds 1x, 2x, 3x). On Android TV, the only way to do this is bring up the OSD, select the FFW or RW icons and hold down select, which then starts to move forward or backward but it skips too far ahead and the video preview is pretty much useless.
I read on the forum that this is a limitation of having to use Android's native player and the apps like Netflix or Amazon use their own player and that is why they have FFW/RW similar to how Plex operates on the Roku.
So my question is whether this new video player in 6.13 is a custom player that will improve on the FFW/RW capability?
