I want to evaluate plex for live tv/dvr to see how it compares to hdhomerun and kodi.
I have a new 718+ synology nas for storage. However I read an article last night that says that plex doesn't work well with synology because hardware transcoding is broken. They recommended that you use shield for transcoding but said the nas can still be used for storage of recorded shows.
Is this the best way to do this? And I install both parts to the shield and nothing to the nas correct?
